This was exactly what we were looking for! It felt like a classic steakhouse, with salad bar and all. The ambiance was great, we sat by the fireplace. The NY Strip was delicious.

12 ounce prime ribe stringy and hard to cut with knife. Baby back ribs hard as a rock. One of the servers put oswabee ranch in the regular ranch so a bunch of people had a surprise. Really expensive and not good quality.

Old school looking restaurant with fantastic food! Everything was really good: fantastic burgers, scallops, steaks, ribs and nice salad bar comes with the meals. Mud pie for dessert was awesome and shareable. Some of the best food I’ve had in many trips to Steamboat.

Outstanding Restaurant. Great service, nice ambiance, and outstanding cooking. Very relaxed dining for dinner and the prime rib with lobster tail add-on was excellent. Great place to dine in Steamboat. Definitely would eat here again when in Steamboat.

Love the atmosphere. We had a party of six and everyone was happy with their food. I recommend the “house potato”. They bring fresh cinnamon rolls before the food comes out which was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. Cheers.

Wow. We have been here some 7 or 8 times. This visit was the best. Try the peppered elk, it is amazing. Also the trout, grilled (not blackened) the flavor comes through just right for incredible fresh fish.

2nd time dining here. Last year was very good, and because Ore House is (was) part of Marriott Bonvoy Eat Around Town program, I decided to come back for a 2nd time this season. My 2 martinis were great! Blackened Ruby Red Trout was killer! My buddy had the Ahi to start and Prime Rib as his entree. Both were very good, but he wasn't raving about either. And, I have to admit, I actually really enjoy a salad bar when available, although in my mind, it brings the level of high end dining down a bit, if that makes sense. Everything was great, but I was very bummed to find out after returning home that Ore House cancelled out of the Eat Around Town program with Marriott. Had I known this up front, we probably would have explored a different restaurant, as we love checking out as many places as we can. Will we be back in the future? I'm not 100% sure, as there are more options to explore, but I do know this is a solid choice.

As usual food was great, it's a go to restaurant for us pretty often ... great prime rib and filets. We didn't order dessert but the table next to us had huge desserts that looked yummy ???

Great service from Thomas. Excellent recommendations. Loved the salad bar, bread service, Brie appetizer but all 4 of us ordered prime rib as our entrees and it was extremely fatty. Manager (?) asked how everything was and I mentioned the prime rib was mostly fat and his only comment was that's how rib roast is. I'm well aware of the marbling and higher fat level of rib roast but over half my 8 oz portion was inedible gristle. He didn't seem at all concerned and didn't offer any explanation, apology or possible solution.

First, the positives: We always love the ambiance of the restaurant. It's rustic and charming, and I've never had an issue with the cleanliness. The food, for the most part, is also excellent. I'm always a fan of their steaks (both elk and beef) which have never steered me wrong, and my wife is partial to the salmon. The calamari and scallops were cooked to perfection, which I am always impressed with as even slightly overcooking these items makes eating difficult. Also, the desserts are rich and decadent, and we always love them, too. The night of our most recent visit did not disappoint in terms of the food. The bussers were also very prompt and attentive in clearing the table as we finished dishes, and they were cheerful in demeanor, so I enjoyed that, as well. Now for the negatives: Our server the night we went (3/1/24) was not great. She started off well with getting our drinks and taking our order, but then she was completely inattentive the rest of the night. For a restaurant priced in the range of Ore House, I expect waiters to notice things like my or my wife's drinks not just being empty, but standing empty for a good 10-15 minutes, especially when said waiter very visibly looks at the empty glasses when asking if everything is okay. Also, I expect waiters at the end of dinner service to ask if dessert is wanted without being prompted. Nit picky, I'm sure, but those are the basic things I look for. Final thing that disgruntled me a bit was the asparagus. It was cooked well, but bland. For paying $4 to add it as a side, a little salt and/or pepper would go a long way.

Make an early dinner reservation, before 6pm, to take advantage of the Sunset Menu (popular entrees at a discount). Our server and service was top notch. The ambiance was nice. It was a cozy barn restaurant. The food was fine, but did not wow our group. We all felt it could have benefitted from more salt or more seasoning. It was a little bland, but still delicious. The french dip and apple pie dessert were the group favorites.
