We had lunch at the bar & the table next to us - was vaping excessively ! I reported it to the bartender Javier whom totally ignored our comment & concern & discomfort along with it being illegal inside a restaurant in the town of Vail! The Mountain Beef soup my husband ordered was absolute garbage - no meat, no broth, just old noodles ( they call spatzle ) was the worst! The biggest rip off in the valley - even expressed our concerns about the food & vaping dis-likes to Javier ( bartender ) and no acknowledge of our comments - he just pretended to ignore anything we had spoken about and was extremely RUDE . Do not go there - we use to like it , but seriously not worth it! It has small portions compared to what they use to serve & now unsatisfactory food!!

Had the racklette which was very good, however serving us at a very small table was very difficult. I burned my forearm reaching across the crowded table to get a dish. Very little room! A crowded space in bar area.

Almresi serves authentic German and Austrian cuisine, with a Vail flair. From the moment you walk in the door, until the moment you leave, you are transported to a totally different place. There's just something special about snuggling into the cozy seats adorned with throws to help you warm up after a day on the slopes, while sipping on your favorite apré ski beverage, and enjoying their famous fondue, or taking it easy for some pretzels and schnitzel, or the absolute best, their Alm Pasta Sud Tirol. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Vail.

Great food but even better service. Our server was so helpful and friendly. He explained everything and constantly made sure everything was great. Prices were also reasonable compared to other places in Vail. Would strongly recommend the place for a nice meal in Vail

Blown away by this spot! Fantastic menu with delicious food and larger portions. Ate with a group of 8 and everyone loved their plate. A few notable orders were the schnitzel, espresso martini, pork shank, short ribs, and brotzeitbrett. Highly recommend!

Amazing from start to finish! Get the fondue appetizer - you will not regret it. Service was impeccable. Cozy feel - like an actual alpine cottage. Also, there's an excellent selection of schnapps.

The ambiance is absolutely perfect for an Austrian-German restaurant. Our food was fabulous! I have been to Vail many times and am so glad we found this place! You could have a full dinner, sit at the bar, stop for appetizers and you would not be disappointed. I'm writing this as my family is eating a dessert and raving! You will not leave hungry or disappointed.

Really like Almresi. The raclette is yummy and I’m half Swiss, so use that as my baseline - it can be a lot of food for two. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend during a vail visit but come hungry.

Brought friend for her birthday while we were on ski trip. Second visit here. Love it. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Truffle fondue, pretzel, schnitzel, pork shank and short rib. Apple strudel and cappuccinos for dessert also great. Service and ambience very nice as well. One of my favorite places to eat in Vail

Excellent staff and service. Food was also strong! Enjoyed Bavarian pretzel appetizer. Wife enjoyed the pork shank and I had the schnitzel the side of jam was very nice. Finished off with strudel!! Highly recommend this restaurant.

our experience did not match the reviews... the fondue was not even fondue.. it was a poor quality of melted cheese in bowl with no flame under it, so you had to shovel it in fast to keep it warm. Service was very poor. Veal sausages were great. Overall it was underwhelming and very overpriced for quality.

Very cute European ambiance with a traditional Bavarian menu. Host, bartender, and waiter were very friendly, helpful, and attentive. For the above, 5/5. However for me, the food was a bit of a disappointment. Pretzel and brat (2/5): bland. Thank goodness for the mustard otherwise would be hard to eat alone. Pork shank (SCHWEINSHAXE): (3/5) sauerkraut was good. Mashed potato's dry. Pork lacked additional flavor. Short ribs (SCHMORBRATEN) 2/5: short ribs lacked flavor. Spatzel was tasteless - taste like air. Red cabbage was overwhelmed by apple. Maybe it's because we just returned from a trip to the alps where the food was so authentic and delicious, but the food here was a disappointment for taste. Ambiance and service were great

Beautiful presentation, everything was just so cute. My favorite was how the tomato soup came in this pretty pink pot. The pesto pasta was amazing as well genuinely some of the best pasta I've ever had.

We had an amazing time here. The food was off the charts and our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The ambiance was wonderful. We got there towards the end of Apre time and once that cleared out it was much quieter. Highly recommend this place and it will be one of our must eats when we come back to Vail! The only thing that we had issue with was the disconnect between information on Open Table, their website, and the people we spoke to on the phone about our reservation. We got conflicting information.
