The food was good, but the service was abysmal! Waited 25 minutes just to get a glass of water! Then, our food cam out at 3 different times. All this for a restaurant that wants a $50/person deposit! Oh, and there's no point in talking to the manager, he wasn't helpful at all.

This was a great undiscovered place. No in Vail village, but it is easy to get to via village shuttle or car with free parking. Great space, and fantastic food. The service was excellent. We will go back again.

UPDATE: to add insult to injury these yahoos charged 1 of our party for the entire bill AND each of us for our portion. Great, so we have to deal with the credit card companies. What incompetence! We ate dinner here with a group of 8. The easy, free parking and quiet atmosphere were the best parts of the meal. I will not be going back though, because the food was decidedly average despite the high prices, and the kids meal was ridiculously bad.First of all we arrived in two batches. The first got a drink order in and were served relatively promptly. We arrived about 5 minutes later and were seriously ignored by the wait staff for the next 20 minutes. I’m not joking. My son even stopped the waitress and asked for a sprite, and was told she would return, but she didn’t. I finally had to flag down a bus boy, and even then the waitress didn’t come over. OMG I was mad at that point. $$$$ restaurants should have passable food AND passable service. This was not that. When she finally came to take a drink order we were given attitude. Whatever. So, the food was OK. The bone marrow was disappointing because they served it with this weird sweet Hawaiian bread which obliterated the subtle buttery flavor of the marrow, and was too soft to mop up the juices. The kids meal was ridiculously bad. For $15 they didn’t have an option of a vegetable side, and the buttered pasta was so mushy and undersalted that my kid wouldn’t eat it. So he had some of my pasta, which at $29 was way oversized and frankly poorly seasoned as well.I ordered the same dish as this reviewer. It looked nothing like this. It was way more sauce than pasta, no herbs on top, very little cheese, definitely no cheese on the edge of the bowl, all just mushed down in the bowl. They do not have consistency within their kitchen.

Just abysmal service all around- from getting seated, to being (non)served, to wait time. It's as if a bunch of dilettantes decided to open a restaurant. The food was good, at least what we ordered (mushroom strudel, burata, halibut, and scallops), but for the price that is charged the whole experience was just a major bust. Waste of an evening...

This is a 1-star restaurant that pretends to be a 5-star restaurant. $50. 00 pp reservation fee, must cancel 24 hours ahead. (one review pleaded to cancel due to illness, but they did not allow). We arrived at 6:00, on time for our reservation. Took 10 minutes to seat us in an almost empty space. At 6:30 we had to flag someone down to get WATER!!! We're skiers! We are thirsty!! Ordered bottle of nice wine, they had no decanter. (no one ever came to pour after 1st time.). Ordered a lemonade-type drink. Would bet my life there was no alcohol in it. Definitely "lemonade". Asked for order of bread: "no one eats it anymore, everyone is gluten-free". No bread. Ordered dinner after we tracked down our waiter again. Brought 3 meals for the 4 of us. Again, had to track down waiter for our 4th meal!!! The halibut was so dry you could barely swallow it. (did credit us for that!). Never checked with us after food served. Wait- person asked the manager to speak with us: Brian, I believe. After he asked was the problem was, we only got to the first 2 things. He immediately began defending the poor service, as a child was sick and they had to clean up.....???? How many people and how long does that take?? Said they were short staffed and a few other excuses. My husband basically told me to stop wasting my breath because he didn't care about us. He then walked away in a huff.....yes, he did NOT CARE ABOUT US. NOT AN WHISPER OF AN APOLOGY. They are located in a hotel...I asked if maintenance could have cleaned up, not the wait staff. He said "no", don't have any maintenance.... If I had read the reviews, I would have seen that this is what many other diners experienced. Sounds like they just have excuses, no solutions, nor do they care. Beautiful space. I predict a less than great experience at this restaurant. Suggest you go elsewhere.

Really excited to visit this Resturant , the former Lord Gore, which was recently renovated . Not really hungry ordered mushroom streusel, the appetizer. While dissecting it looking for mushrooms, not just fullers , I found a piece of plastic , like the corner of a baggie cut off. The waitress took it to the Manager who took it off the bill and apologized . I didn't want anything else to eat there..... Disappointed because I had such wonderful memories of the place.

Our waitress was amazing! She was very knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. We shared the rack of lamb appetizer, which was excellent and had short ribs and halibut as the mains, again absolutely delicious. The room is beautiful with a nice cozy fire and huge windows. Highly recommend.

Had a great dinner with the mushroom strudel, the short rib and the halibut. The room is elegant, spacious and quiet. A frother would be a good addition so that cappuccino could be offered

This place is beautifully designed, however the service did not match the price of the food! It was spotty at best - while friendly they kept forgetting things like water refill or a spoon or shared plates, so while the food was delivered we still had to wait at each course for something (ie plates). There were 3 people serving the whole restaurant and one of them at one point sat down with one of the tables to chat. Which would have been totally fine if the service for the remaining tables was good. Also the entire staff was very attentive to that one particular table , and maybe they were VIP (the designers? Ownership?) and again that is understandable but not at the expense of others / when there isn't enough service staff to go around. Also the eggplant carbonara, while tasty, didn't have much eggplant in it and was more like polenta with tomatoes and a little bit of eggplant. Halibut was great! Definitely has potential though and the decor and design was really stunning!

Outstanding experience. The dining room, service, and each bite was truly outstanding - delicious, beautiful, creative, fun, deeply satisfying. Susan is such a lovely hospitality expert, and made us feel so welcome and cared for. We’re headed back in a few weeks and bringing friends. Home run of an addition to Vail fine dining. Thank you.

This is hands down the best restaurant we ate in over the last three weeks in Vail! The winter food was delicious. Everyone had an exceptional taste dish. The chef knows food and winter comfort food was on point! Don't listen to any bad reviews. If you're a foodie and love five star meals this place won't disappoint. Well-done ?

Dinner was as fabulous as previous times. My husband wasn't daring, and ordered the burrata salad and short ribs again. He loved it. I shared the burrata salad, and then shared the mushroom strudel and gnocchi in lamb sauce. This was my first time trying the salad and gnocchi, which were excellent! This is a hidden gem.

We went on New Year's Eve, and the staff was overwhelmed. We ordered drinks as soon as we sat down. Our server came by the table 3 different times to let us know the bar was backed up. We never received our salads, and received entrees before we received our drinks (overall took about 30 minutes). The server never offered to make any concessions for late drinks or lack of salads. The food was very good, despite the bad service.

This is the worst restaurant we have been to. the service was so slow we had to wait 45 minutes just to get a drink order. the entrées were mediocre at best. The desert was very funky altogether this restaurant is the worst.
