Oct/Nov 2023 - In less than a month I visited Brass Horse four times. Two local events and two dinners. The last time I was here was when the original owner Jerry was running the place and that was maybe 15 years ago? It was nice to see the improvements made by the new owner.#Fourth visit: Since noticing their Prime Rib Thursday neon sign by the road it's been on our list to try. Two of us ordered this for dinner, one medium rare and one end cut, and the third member of our party wanted to try the Angus Bourbon Bacon Burger he saw my partner eat on our first visit. The prime rib dinner was priced as in most restaurants @$33.75, more than we expected for a roadhouse, but it was seasoned perfectly and the sides of mashed potato with gravy and green beans with almonds were done well. A fresh roll comes with the meal. The burger was really enjoyed even though only half could be eaten. Our fellow diner pointed out how much bacon came with it.#Third visit: Get together event with locals in early November. We ordered their nachos and a special country style rib dinner we split that came with a mashed potato pancake and green beans. The nachos with chicken were above par. A couple of friends happily took some off of our plate as it was a large serving plentiful with toppings. The rib dinner was tasty, too.#Second visit: A couple of evenings later this October, we came back for one of the two events. The owner, Kim, had a buffet table out for guests with cheese quesadilla slices, sausage meatballs, and baked potato skins with chili and cheese made by her cook. In addition to these finger foods, she had a slow cooker set up that contained one of the best New England Clam Chowders I've ever had! Really superb. Packed full of fresh tender clams, perfectly cooked cubes of potato, the right amount of any seasoning and a piping hot creamy broth that wasn't too thick. Ideal consistency. Packets of oyster crackers were in a basket. Kim makes all the soups on the menu. With winter coming up, stop by and try one.#First visit: With an upcoming event I had to attend, I needed to try the food as a regular patron, since the dishes put out for groups are different - not in a bad way, but in a convenient and cost saving way, understandably, so that visit would not represent their consistent menu.Three of us ordered two appetizers: Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and a dozen chicken wings - half naked garlic dry rub and half Buffalo. The only negative here in this review is that the naked garlic wings were raw at the bone. We put them aside and took them home in a box to cook longer. The Philly egg rolls, very trendy now, were what they should be and the Buffalo wings were cooked fine. The mains: Beef stew, Shepherd's Pie and the house Angus Bourbon Bacon Burger. My stew was hot, tender and had the right balance of meat to vegetables. Flavorful desirably thick broth. It came with a traditional biscuit. My partner's burger was large at 8 oz. and everything you would want in a meaty toothy burger. The Shepherd's pie got a fair review. In the diner's words, it was not seasoned and there was too much potato overall. The takeout order of pierogies with sauteed onion and sour cream was delicious. Definitely worth ordering. Our two cocktails - the classic mudslide and a martini were both well made with good pours. Casual vibe and environment. CASH ONLY but they provide an ATM onsite. There's a pool table for game enthusiasts.

I only went there to meet a few friends for veterans day and it just happened that they were having a salute to veterans dinner for free. If you said you were a veteran, you would get sliced prime rib with garlic mashpotatoes and homemade gravy, sauteed asparagus, and a homemade biscuit toasted with butter. They were charging non veterans $33 for the plate, and I have to say that was a steal. It was freaking delicious food. Thank you to the ownership to make me feel like one more of the bunch. I'll definitely recommend this place for an awesome dive bar with really good food.

Our favorite biker bar with $3 Bud bottles, bike only parking when Chris Tofield plays, and live music on Sundays. While this is pretty much a drinking establishment for bikers, it will draw an eclectic crowd on Sundays depending on the band's following. By the looks of the establishment, you wouldn't expect that the food to be as good as it is. On Sundays, if we want a quick bite we order the Sandy's potato Bomb which are fries with various sauces that giving the dish a nice kick. The best meal however, is on Thursdays when prime rib is served. Kim only orders a limited amount so if you want to try it, you must call ahead and reserve your serving. The serving comes with a generous slice of prime rib, heaping pile of mashed potatoes with gravy, and green bean almondine. Definitely worth a try.

My friend and I stopped here last December for what we hoped was a late lunch. Behind the bar was staffed, and there were a few customers chatting happily with them and among themselves. They watched us enter but didn't acknowledge our presence, so we seated ourselves. We waited and waited: for a menu, a glance, a word, any sign of service. After 15 minutes of being completely ignored, we left. Very odd and disconcerting.
