No wonder this reliably tasty Vietnamese food gem was voted "Best Vietnamese Restaurant" by Connecticut Magazine in 2024: Pho Hong Thom has the most satisfying and delicious Shrimp Summer Rolls and incredible, bold and intense but skillfully balanced Chicken Pho and Steak Pho at such a spectacular value. It's authentic Vietnamese cuisine at its finest. They have their recipes mastered. It'll be some of the best Vietnamese food you've ever tasted! Pho Hong Thom's pho has the perfect noodles, not overly thin or fat noodles that are the appropriate silky noodles for maximal enjoyment. It's deeply comforting and filling eating their aromatic pho with their strong and rich broth; thinly sliced beef or with a generous amount of chicken; bean sprouts; and nutrient-rich herbs. There's also a bodacious Fish Patty Banh Mi. They remind me of my late, paternal grandmother's tasty Vietnamese Claypot Caramelized and Braised Catfish. Their Vietnamese Shrimp Stir-Fried Noodles - yellow noodles with egg, shrimp, beef, broccoli, and I use two of their bold, salty, and complex fish sauces to elevate it - are a savory and delightful must-try, creating a vibrant and tasty blend that make me nostalgic for when my family regularly cooked this at home but with ramen noodles. I have tried almost every single Connecticut Vietnamese restaurant in town, wasted a lot of time and money, and when they close for 3 weeks during the Summer, I can't wait until they reopen! My other fave Connecticut Asian Food Finds are: -MIKU Sushi Bar and Restaurant -Enchanted Szechuan -Nit Noi -Blue Ginger -Haruki Ramen & Izakaya -Yuki Kitchen -GOGI Korean Steakhouse & Sushi -House of Chao -bb.q Chicken New Haven -Hinoki -Kazu Japanese Restaurant -Thai Time -The Whale Tea

Small and comfortable. Not so many menu items that you get lost. And a 3 item VEGAN menu was the highlight! I had the fried yellow noodle with tofu. Filling and flavorful, if a bit too oily. Excellent wait service: fast, comfortable, friendly, priced right and a young man serving the tables who loves his work ??

I travel CT for work, and one thing I love to do when I get the time is try a new pho place. Happened to be in Bridgeport and saw this place came highly rated on many CT awards.Going in, I was weary because I find MOST pho places are just decent. Which is unfortunate because pho is one of my favorite foods. However I left immensely satisfied and now ranking this easily in my Top 3 best phos in CT.I want to point out the quality of ingredients used. Specifically the chili oil I find most pho places use a generic chili sauce that almost resembles a sweet chili, or chili flakes in ketchup. This was as they “the good $#!T”.Very satisfied. Looking forward to coming back next time I’m in the area.

I have eaten here many times, and am just getting to writing a review (bad on me). I love Vietnamese food. Years ago, a close friend of mine, who hailed from Vietnam, introduced me to Vietnamese cuisine. It became one of my favorites. With its fresh, cool veggies, sweet and savory sauces, delicious meats and soups, it is a "go to," for sure. Pho Hong Thom has all of the fabulous Vietnamese meals I could want and at such a reasonable price. We had the Summer Rolls, and two orders of Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio Trung. Absolutely delicious. My only gripes on the Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio Trung-I couldn't find the mint, and there could have been more shrimp, for sure. That being said, it was a hearty meal, and for 10$, could not be beat. Also, of note, the man who greeted me this last time, as well as had my meal prepared by the time I got there, as promised, is the same person who has greeted me there for years. Always friendly, always welcoming. Just a little gem tucked away behind an unassuming store front. Highly recommended.

Just finished eating my takeout and had to write a review. I ordered the #8 and wow, food was excellent. The service was great as well, make sure you add on a Vietnamese coffee. I highly recommend and will be back.

Absolutely stellar food. Given how hard it is to find great Vietnamese food in Connecticut, this really stands out as a gem.
