I always enjoy their cafeteria-style takeout back in the day. In 2015, the 1 meat, rice, beans was $6.50, then $7 in 2018. In 2023, it's $11 per combo, now includes 1 canned soda. (Due to COVID-19, everything increased in cost.)

Stopped in here yesterday after a beach day. The place is small, very casual and it's clean. The young lady working behind the counter is friendly and efficient. We ordered Cuban sandwiches and food to go. The rice & beans & chicken plate was good. Lots of flavor. The toasted bread for the Cuban sandwiches was great. I am disappointed that each sandwich only contained one piece of ham, one piece of cheese. one tomato halved, and a very small amount of thinly sliced pernil. They were dry. There was no mustard or pickles on the sandwich which would classify it as a Cuban to me. I asked for these condiments & got ketchup & mustard packets. Before we started eating there was a bottle of hot sauce on our table but for some reason it was taken away when the drinks were brought out. Next time I'll order the mofongo & hopefully they're not as light on the filling with that.

Ordered rice w/ chicken through Uber Eats, instead I got a big container full of rice. Maybe found 1 or 2 small pieces of chicken? Very disappointed.Later on I received a message from the owner through the app that I was being ungrateful for my complaint. They mentioned the portion size I received was enough for a family. They failed to mention the lack of protein in my order.

I have been visiting this place for 3years, they have great food and (most important) they are incredibly consistent. This is the perfect place for Authentic Dominican Food! Bring your appetite!

I bought sweet Dominican beans and it was delicious. I recommend this place because of their hospitality and their cleanness and of course the food is delicious. :)

Rice was cold, so mad, what Spanish place doesn't have hot rice. Pork chop was greasy and well done.Beans were good, I had to use that in order to keep the rice warm and edible.I had a empanadas, supposedly "chicken". Tasted like fish or imitation crab meat. Mistery ? meat. And to top it off a bone in my empanada wich wasnt a chicken bone. Almost broke my tooth.Im not trying to bash the restaurant but I work in a restaurant for over 16years. And I tip well and except the same service and food as I treat my guest. But they just wanted my money. It was just disappointing to my culture. Puerto Rico my island and trying to promote food from our island ?️. By far. I highly recommend another spot.El morivi in Bridgeport is the best. They close Early which is the downside. But no stars, I hate to leave a bad reviews but it was a waste of $30.00 and walked in the rain to get some comfort food which wasn't the case.Plus I had the worst diarrhea. I felt like the food was stale and food born I'llness. And expired meat.Sorry but you guys have to work on your presentation. Sad because years ago this place was delicious. I don't know what happened.
