One of the best Italian restaurants around. The owner is from Sorrento and he brings the Italian charm. Very traditional menu with fresh homemade items. The pizza is light and fresh. The pappadella al ragu is one of the best dishes. The homemade pasta is extremely light and airy. Great atmosphere and spot for lunch or dinner.
The restaurant was nice and very clean. Our server was nice and very attentive. I ordered a salad. It was basic and was disappointed that there was only one option for dressing. For my entree, I ordered the lasagna. It was slightly warm and could have been cooked longer. There wasn't much meat inside, and I wasn't a fan of the bechamel. I did like that the noodles were house made. I would not order again. I may return and try other options.

Wonderful food, prepared with passion,by a chef that knows the rules of Italian food. The bartender, Concetta, an Italian lady of great elegance, was very knowledgeable about Italian cuisine. A great dining experience! Perfetto!! Un'elegante esperienza culinaria!!

Italian restaurants are ubiquitous in southern Connecticut with many providing adequate representations of italian-American staples such as eggplant, chicken, veal parm, spaghetti & meatballs & various interpretations of pizza. This place, Trattoria 'A Vucchella succeeds in giving diners a pretty authentic southern Italian dining experience. Pastas are home made & the fish is very fresh & simply prepared. I haven't had the pizza but reports are that it's pretty good. My 3rd trip did not disappoint. Sometimes the pasta can be a little too al dente as it was recently but one can over look that when everything else about the dish & its accompaniments = perfection. Don't expect humongous portions but you certainly won't go hungry either. Every time we go, we have received wonderful service & being greeted warmly by the engaging owner is a nice way to begin. Fairfield County residents & folks passing thru Bridgeport are fortunate that Pasquale opened the very comfortable authentic southern Italian lunch & dinner venue: Trattoria 'A Vucchella, on Fairfield Ave across from the Bijou Theatre. It's the real deal.
