We made a reservation for Mother's Day for 4pm. The day of I received a voicemail that they actually close at 4pm. Apparently whoever is in charge of removing that option for online booking has not yet updated the times. Despite this, the staff were incredibly accommodating and kind, keeping the kitchen open and not rushing us through our meal. The food was great, the margs were tasty, and even the v young kiddos had a great time there and wanted to stay longer. Whoever is in charge of changing the reservation options, PLEASE make the change happen so that their wonderful staff can go home on time!!!!

This restaurant has seriously deteriorated in its short life in Branford. Their previously expansive menu has narrowed, and unlike even the cheaper Mexican joints, if you order 2 or 3 tacos they won't let you mix choice of filling. The service was atrocious. A bus person knocked over one of our drinks, spilling Margarita all over the table. She showed next to no urgency as we all threw our napkins on the mess, and brought over more napkins, leaving us to clean up! We actually had to request something to deal with the stickiness of the table after we'd mopped up the liquid. Meanwhile, the bar was gravely understaffed, for which our server apologized, but still. On a Saturday night the whole thing was being run by children - not a responsible adult in sight.

Food was good but too expensive....(2 tacos $18, order guac $15, pay for chips, chicken fajitas $26). Service was awesome! Sorry to say I can get a better value with comparable quality elsewhere. We will not return.

Best Mexican around if you like a higher end menu / quality of food than places like Jalepeno Heaven.. Happy Hour deals are amazing. I absolutely recommend...just make a reservation if you want a high top table by a window! They get packed in the evenings.

Food wasn’t cooked chicken had blood owner came over attempted to defend uncooked food. This place appropriates Mexican food but has no clue what the culture of Mexican food is about avoid this place if at all possible. Horrible experience. Just reviewing the other reviews seeing the owner use divisive language in the response says all you need to know about this place !

Overall we had a good experience, Food was very good, some very unique, wife loved the flight os salsas! Two things that need some work to get 5 stars, one is staffing, on the Wednesday we visited only two waitresses were working the floor, including the bar and hosting. I've never waited so long to be seated when there was no line and tables were ready! Once seated waitresses was awesome but she was clearly overworked that night. Also we were surprised on how small menu was, not a fan of overly large menus but this did not provide lots of options. Also first choice of beers we ordered off menu were out. So cooks great, waitresses great, management, not so great.

House margarita was strong, gotta like that, but plain. Guac was meh, so was the rest of the food. Pretty limited menu, didn't have some menu items, and they substitute things that you didn't order, example, chicken tinga instead of ala brasa. Won't go back.

We were super disappointed by our experience at Los Charros. The services was extremely poor. We went for a 6:45 dinner reservation and it took about 15-20minutes for the waitress to give us water and take our drink order. We both ordered the fish tacos, which came quickly, but were not good. My tacos were stringy, which was really unpleasant. Would not go back.

Excellent brunch, margaritas and service. Our server Chris and the rest of the folks that checked on us were super friendly. Will be back on our next trip through the area!

Our first time here lastnight and we were blown away. From the warm welcome by our hostess, who was so kind. One of our party recently had spine surgery and we asked for whatever seating might be most comfortable for her. The hostess happily worked her magic and rearranged a couple of things and we got the perfect table with comfy chairs. Service was phenominal throughout. Our server (didn't get his name, unfortunately, but i'd describe him as a very well built young man) worked hard keeping us happy and answering many ingredient-related questions that one of our pickier friends had. Great service from him and also from the other servers who delivered to our table. We shared the Chips & Salsa flight (a selection of 9 or 10 different realy interesting salsas) and the rich, delicious, gooey Queso Fundido w/mushrooms, which you eat with warm flour tortillas. We loved the apps, and additional chips & tortillas were cheerfully provided. 2 of our party had the fajitas (one shrimp and one chicken) and loved them. The rice & beans accompanying them were delicious too. I had the 10 oz. carne asada skirt steak and it was cooked perfectly. Very generous portion of steak, crispy potatoes and seasonings. I'd get this again in a minute. We even splurged for dessert .. the vanilla tres leches cake w/whipped cream .. and the churro beignets w/caramel sauce. This was probably the best tres leches cake i've ever had. Again, generous portions of both and so delicious. Can't say enough about each staffmember we encountered. They are clearly very proud of their place and everyone was top-notch, friendly and smiling. We will absolutely be back and will spread the word.

The food was, as always, outstanding. We had a new waiter that was really trying but should not have working yet as he didn't know anything about the menu or options. Will come back soon.

Great tequila list! Wish we could have mixed/matched the tacos, but with a group, we were able to do that anyway. The salsa flight was delicious, but the spiciest could have been spicier. Bring it on!!! The tres leches was wonderful as it wasn't too sweet. The churros beignets were a little heavy and I was hoping for just churros, which I feel are generally lighter. But the rest of my party disagreed.

Awful. No chicken enchiladas at a Mexican restaurant? Had birrita quesadillas instead. Greasy and without flavor. Inattentive waitress didn't help. Won't be going back.

The service was poor—no one attended to us for 10 minutes and our waiter didn't tell us any of the specials. The food was good (but pricey) and came out quickly after we finally ordered.
