I have eaten here a lot as I live in town and have enjoyed the food. I like to eat in the bar and will often come in to have a drink or watch a game. I came in the other night to do just that with a friend. The restaurant was nearly empty as it was 8:15 on a weeknight. We sat at the bar and asked to have the baseball game turned on the TV. Soon the cook came out, took the remote and changed the channel to watch the football game. We told him we were watching the baseball game. He ignored us at first and then said it wasn't important and he wanted to watch the football game (which hadn't started yet.) He watched for a minute then left, leaving the football game on and the remote out of reach. We asked the owner to turn the baseball game on again, which he did. The cook again came out and did the same thing as before. I've never had such rude service, persistently so and in a place where I'm certain the owners recognize me as, if not a regular, a frequent customer. Needless to say, I'll not return to Brix.

love this place! great food .... the staff is mostly 30-50 year olds who are clearly bitter this is where they have ended up in life, but at least they are attentive. portions are small, but you really dont mind because everything is fresh and clearly had a lot of thought and effort put into it. i can only explain other reviews for a group event that wasnt so great is that maybe that isnt their thing. this is my favorite place to go for dinner in cheshire!

oh my god this was bad. if this is considered higher end for cheshire, i am glad i don't live here! when i read jonathans review i was looking forward to a function we were having here - but it was an incredible disappointment. my wife had risotto that was lesser than uncle bens - is ristotto supposed to be crunchy? this was completely undercooked to the point of being hard to eat. i had a pasta dish that pretty much seemed like barilla from a box with some brown gravy poured on top. nasty. others in our group had some steaks, veal and swordfish that they said was OK but not something to go back for, ever. on the good side - the staff was super attentive and very nice, the drinks kept flowing, one course after another with no problems. maybe if ordering from the menu and not a group function like this, Brix wouldn't be so bad but I am not going back. maybe lunch doesn't suck so bad? Also - we had looked on their site and checked out the menu. found some things that sounded good, but when we got there found out the menu on the website is the summer menu and no longer being served. How hard is it to update a web site? people do it every day!!

Went here for my Nonny's 88th birthday, and it was very good. My veal marsala was sliced very thin and was really flavorful. The salad I had with spinach, leeks, fresh mozz, and toasted pine nuts was delicious. Their gnocchi is homemade, small, and light as a feather. I could easily eat a double or triple sized portion of that as my dinner (it's on the menu as an appetizer). The service was also very good, and I really like the decor. It was classy but not pretentious, and I felt really comfortable there. It is a bit pricey, and I was really disappointed by their wines by the glass, as the Grenache and Cabernet that I had weren't anything worth noting, and I didn't even know what winery they came from because there was no list, save for the couple of "special" wines they were offering by the glass at that time. Also, for some reason I was under the impression that this place was more of an eclectic restaurant, when in reality it is an Italian restaurant. I wouldn't say that it's worth going well out of your way to go here (I'd rather make the trek to Il Palio in Shelton), but if you are going to be in/around Cheshire for any reason, this is probably one of your best options for a nice dinner.
