A non-descript shop that shares the building with an electronics repair store. Felt like going back in time! Went late morning on a weekday in mid-February. They were out of our favorites so had to settle for for other limited options. Service was OK but the inside could use a lot of work. It didn't feel dirty, but didn't feel clean either. Donuts were $2 each and decent. Definitely larger and better than DD. No oily or chemical taste, and cooked to a nice crisp. Filling was tasty, but not abundant and there was none in my first few bites.

Buyer beware! Tried this place out for the first time and ended up with food poisoning. Called to speak to a manager to warn them and get a refund. The manager was extremely rude, offered me a fraction of what I paid for, and started to argue with me on the phone. When I walked in and saw how run down the restaurant was, that should have been my first red flag. I wouldn’t recommend going here after getting sick, but especially after the way management handled this

Thank you to Amber for being extremely careful about making my order gluten free. As a celiac, I'm very limited to where I can safely eat. Amber was very reassuring and the food was great. I did not get sick. The gf donuts are the best I've ever had! Thank you again!

I try to visit a CT donut shop if serious CT donut fans or experts rate it highly. Although it's 45 minutes from home, Beach Donuts has been on my radar as such a place. It has an old school vibe. Nothing wrong with the looks, but atmosphere and branding are not selling points. It doesn't have to be in a beach area. People will flock to spots with good food. I ordered a half dozen donuts. Service was fine, but not something that stood out. I had to ask the person helping me not to put another donut against the chocolate icing of a Boston Cream. Never met a Boston Cream fan who likes smudged icing. LOL I tried two donuts. Beach makes my favorite donut that my favorite donut shop makes -- the long glazed cruller. It was very good. Good crisp outer texture. Fresh inner texture. The glaze adhered to the donut well. The color was darker than I'm used to for a non-chocolate cruller. I'm not sure what causes the different color, but the taste was right on. I also tried a Crumb Donut, which is somewhat similar to a Buttercrunch that some places serve. It was fresh and tasty. A well executed donut. For what it's worth, I asked my 11 year old how he liked his Boston Cream and he said it was about average. My wife thought her glazed cruller was "almost" as good as her favorite place. Beach Donut is a very good donut shop. I get why people rate it so highly. Especially if you have fond memories from visiting during area beach trips. I've come to believe that it's hard to be completely objective about scoring certain well loved kinds of businesses such as donut shops, because you have a strong sense of loyalty to your favorite donut shop. I'll give it my best shot though. Beach Donut is much better than a national franchise type place, but it's a half step off my favorite CT donut shop and other donut shops I put in the top tier. One of the most important parts of a donut shop visit, is the sense of shock and awe you experience at first seeing the number of donuts, different types of donuts and the aesthetics of the donuts in the case. I didn't feel that sense of shock and awe when I saw Beach's donut case. They had fewer donut types than my favorite place. The donuts I saw looked fairly standard in terms of type and most of them didn't pop visually. It seems like Beach executes the donuts they make at a fairly high level, but for me, Beach doesn't quite rise to the level of my favorite CT donut shops. 4.25 Stars

By far not the fanciest or flashiest donut shop I've ever been to, but by far are some of the best donuts in the area! Beach donut has a great selection of donuts, sandwiches, and coffees/beverages. We got a chocolate donut and a vanilla glazed with sprinkles! Iced coffee was strong and delicious. Overall a solid place that hits the spot.

We are from Switzerland and we went there yesterday morning. The woman was very friendly and the bagel (cinnamon raisin with cream cheese) and the donuts were delicious!!!

Very tasty varieties! Smells phenomenal. I didn’t like the cream in the Boston cream, but I’m from Boston and quite picky about those. Otherwise, delish!

My coworkers and I are always looking for somewhere to get lunch quickly and decided to try Beach Donut out. I ordered a grilled ham and cheese with a Banana coffee. It was out within 10-12 minutes.. The sandwich was delicious and very filling.. and the coffee tasted great! The staff was kind and courteous. Will be back for lunch again really soon.
