Our pricey steak was served Luke warm; 30% of it was too fatty to consume. The service was slow. We’re used to Barberie’s Steakhouse (same family as the current Chucks owner) where the service is impeccable, where heated bread accompanied the meal (Chuck’s only offers bread at the salad bar-we tried it-it was cold and stale: corn bread is no longer offered),Where the steak is superb and served hot and where the high prices are warranted. We shared one steak at Chuck’s, had one drink each and paid $100 without tip.The bar at Chuck’s is now far busier which makes it noisy in the dining room. We fear the high bar drink volume profit will shrink attention to the food and food service. Chucks will become known as just another local bar hangout. We’re saddened by the disappearance of the original Chuck’s, its superb service, multiple affordable great food choices and dependable, experienced, loyal staff.

We were regulars at the old Chucks Steakhouse, when the new Steakhouse open, we decided to give it a try well disappointment isn’t strong enough word to describe our feelings. The only thing that Chucks has going for its self is the salad bar however they have taken away a standard dressing, known as thousand islands/Russian. I ordered a filet mignon which is supposed to be a tender thicker piece of steak. It was half as thick as the old fillets were at the old Chucks. I ordered it medium it came well done. The prices have increased by at least 10 to 20% on every item. We ordered two drinks and my bill came and I was charged for four drinks. The macaroni and cheese, which was one of my daughter’s favorite tasted like wet noodles with butter and the cream of spinach, which is a standard at any steakhouse was less than impressive. The other issue here is that at least half of the wait staff have English as a second language to them, my wife asked for a spoon and when it was delivered to her the person said “here you go lady” All in all I will not go back. It’s a shame because we use to eat at the old Chuck’s once or twice a week. Also, a side note, the owner is extremely loud and obnoxious, when ever anyone entered and when you left he would wish you a Merry Christmas, seriously this is March. Go at your own risk. As a past Chucks regular we will not ever go again. Very Sad that a Danbury landmark no longer exists.

This place has unfortunately gone way downhill. First off, a steak comes with nothing. Literally on a plate with nothing. To add a baked potato is $9. To get just the salad bar, it's $20! The salad bar is sub-par and nothing like it used to be. Hardly anything on it. But the thing that got us, was the attitude of one of the male owners (or managers?). The way that he spoke to the female restaurant workers was absolutely deplorable. He repeatedly called them "honey" and "sweetie" over and over again in a demeaning voice. One of the women turned around away from him and rolled her eyes at me. It was so uncomfortable to hear, we couldn't wait to get out of there. I would watch out for a sexual harassment lawsuit from your workers!

Our waitress Chelsee was abysmal. We don’t mind waiting for food but we were never informed by our waitress how long it would take. We were here a week ago and had the best server, Cameron. He made my sons day after a very long hissy fit. I will now call ahead and if Cameron is not there, we will not be returning.

I came to chucks steakhouse at the recommendation of our favorite server Carson from barbaries grill. Despite the fact we saw him there and he greeted us we had the worst waitress we’ve ever had in my 20 years of dining experience. I believe her name was Kelsea, not only was the service below sub par (i understand she is likely new), but she messed up our order and my fathers severe allergy. If i had not done my due diligence my father may have been in the hospital.

Went to Chuck's Steakhouse last night for dinner. Pros: Waitstaff was super attentive and friendly. Salad dressing was delicious. The salad bar is included with entries, and they brought back the early specials.Cons: The owner/greeter/seater was loud and would yell every time he sat a table, I guess, to let the server know. He also yelled, "This is my last table" a lot when seating people. It was loud. The lighting was super bright. There are spotlights in the dining room now that directly shine into people's eyes as they are eating. We didn't say anything but did hear other tables complain to staff. There was no hand sanitizer at the beginning of the salad bar buffet. I know that we can always bring our own, I was just surprised that there wasn't any availabile at the start of the buffet. The early bird portions are small. Yes, it's a discount, so I get that, but my salmon was probably 2-3oz. The only chicken on the menu was chicken parmesean, which seemed odd. The bread was a disappointment. The cornbread is sweet cornbread, and the other two options were not good. They were dry. All in all, for $70+ including tip, I'll probably skip it and go elsewhere. At least for now. It's new, and maybe they will make adjustments. I do suggest hand sanitizer at the start of the buffet.

I had the most amazing dining experience at Chuck's Steakhouse! The highlight of the night was definitely our server, Carson. He provided exemplary service from start to finish, going above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic meal.Carson recommended the perfect wine pairing for our meal - the Oberon, which complemented our rack of lamb entree beautifully. He also expertly paired the wine with the 20 ounce porterhouse steak, further enhancing our dining experience. Not only was the food incredible, but the level of service we received from Carson truly elevated our evening. I will definitely be returning to Chuck's Steakhouse and requesting Carson as my server. 5 stars all around!

No thank you $20 salad bar. Are you kidding? I can go to cheesecake factory nicer facility and ambience and get a massive salad there for $15 , vegan Cobb salad with all the healthy ingredients plus great bread. Their price gorging here. it should be $12 for lunch 15 for dinner. Like the old

Sadly, this is definitely NOT the old Chucks now that it's under the Barbarie ownership. Different menu and MUCH higher prices. Only the decor is the same - no idea what the "renovations" are that they were closed for.We heard they reopened last night, 3/13/24, so we called and made reservations for lunch today and were sooo excited to go back! We specifically went for the prime rib and the steak tip kabobs, our favorites. Boy, were we disappointed. The prime rib is no longer on the menu, and neither is the steak tip kabob. Fewer seafood entrees and appetizers than before. We chose other entrees, which were fine if nothing to write home about, but we were incredibly disappointed. Here's some of the price changes that we were surprised to see.Filet mignon was $36 for 7oz, now its $49 for 8oz.Cajun beef tips was $28, now its $38.Chicken parm was $24, now its $32.Fried calamari appetizer was $12, now $17.French onion soup was was $8, now $11Soup & salad bar was $18, now JUST salad bar is $20.We probably won't be back unless they bring back some of the old menu, although at the new prices, it would be a whole lot less often than we used to go - this was our go-to place for lunch out, and for meeting with friends and family. We are actively looking for a new place to be regulars. Very sad.

Chuck's is iconic. The fewer changes, the better. Please keep the sirloin steak on the menu. Also please don't use this opportunity to jack up the prices or you will loose all of the family business.
