The food is hit or miss. One time it’s great, another time it’s very salty or the meat is not tender.

The food was fine, but the service and prices were a major problem. I ordered 2 large meals, and 4 sides and it was over $70. The prices aren't posted either. One item was $24 and there was very little meat. I also asked for extra gravy (sauce) and definitely did not get it. They initially "forgot" to give me one of the sides, so after, I trired to open the containers to ensure I got what I ordered, and the woman barked at me that I wasn't allowed to touch them yet. I asked what kind of patties they had, and she nastily told me she didn't know. There were other customsers who were not barked at. They were black and I am a white woman.

They over charged my credit card hoping I wouldn't notice. I won't be going back here.

The food was tasty and the portions were large. They have a good variety of food. The location size is small and the owners and workers were very friendly.

First, be warned, not all food is available upon walk-in. Most entrees have to be ordered in advance, cook-to-order, which was a shame as I was seeking callaloo & saltfish. However we adjusted, and selected from the ready-made food, which included j*** chicken, curry goat, brown stew chicken, patties, etc. The curry goat was well cooked-- a little light on the curry but tender & flavorful, & I appreciated the extra gravy over my rice. The patty & cabbage were fine, but the collards were inedible-- we all tasted it. Waaay too spicy. Like, kill dead spicy.

Food had no flavor and it was WAY overpriced. $25.00 for j*** chicken with rice and a sprite. Crazy Crazy Crazy.

Everything from the service to the food was exceptional! I placed my order in advanced (4hours prior to pick up) over the phone and the service I received was exquisite. The gentleman was very kind and friendly, despite my complicated order. His personality even made my day better over the phone! When I arrived to pick up my food, the women behind the counter were so very sweet and welcoming. My food was HOT and ready on time. I’m a big fan of Jamaican food and the flavor, textures, and aromas of Green Island food was superb. I was beyond impressed with the entirety of my experience. I greatly look forward to my next meal here!! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant among many in the greater Danbury area! You will not be disappointed!

As a Jamaican, I am ashamed of this place . The staff is RUDE. The food lacks flavor, it's just bad. I can clearly see why the chinese store gets way more customers . If you go here , do yourself a favor and go to the Chinese place next door instead!

Never go here food is never good quality I am from NY were you actually can get real seasoned Jamaican food also being West Indian myself I know when the food isn’t seasoned properly they’re prices are literally outrageous and I hope anyone that’s planning on ordering knows they tax you for each individual item they don’t total everything up and then tax you like every other normal place it’s a literal joke that they’re still in business would give zero stars if possible.

Horrible service. Ive tried to go twice now, and every time i call (which they insist) nobody picks up. Theres a sign on the door saying doors are locked, please order from your car. Very inconvenient, but whats even more inconvenient is they never pick up the phone. Last time i was here i tried to call 3 times. This time once. I wont beg these people to serve me food..... Do they want business? Or are they just open for no reason? I truly dont understand. Such a waste of time, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE, I AM WARNING YOU! Horrible establishment with 0 regard for the customer

This is by far one of the best Jamaican food spots I have been to. The j*** chicken is spicy hot, the oxtail is beautifully cooked with a great sauce and comes with two sides (we got steamed cabbage and rice with peas), the callaloo was phenomenal as an extra side, chicken soup was delectable as well very rich and highly seasoned (perfect for any day), curry chicken patty was on the sweet curry side which was a nice change of pace. We also got a beef patty with cheese on coco bread. The coco bread was great and the beef patty had great flavor, we were not a fan of the cheese used and would opt for no cheese next time. Overall the food was spicy just the way we like and had hoped for. It's so great to know we can count on this place when we have a hankering for Jamaican. The lady working was sweet as can be and very polite. Food was prepared on time and great hot temperature still when we got home. Excited for leftovers tomorrow!!!
