Not a big fan, fries are basic krinkle cut not awful but not special. They sell this hot chicken stuff which is apparently spicy and I am not a big spicy fan, my tender pretty much fell apart in my hands. Not much personality from the workers either

After going to the west hartford location for over a year I was very excited to hear about the opening of the Darien location. I am back at school in Bronx, so I took an hour long train ride for opening day and was definitely not disappointed! I have been back a few more times since and it still is amazing definitely recommend going!

The. Best. Hot. Chicken. Period.Dave’s and the other fufu chains have nothing on these guys. Oil and rub, hot options and chicken quality to die for. And the fact a combo is under $15 blows my mind. Staff explained how and why they are better which shows they are doing a good job getting their team inspired. Hope to see you guys make it up to Massachusetts

As a lover of hot spicy foods and Nashville chicken sandwiches, I really wanted to try BirdCode. My wife and I had lunch there today. I had the chicken sandwich (medium hot) and she had the chicken nuggets (mild). We were stunned how much salt was in the fried spice batter mix. The most salty briny flavor I ever tasted. It was so bad, we took our forks and scraped off the fried spice batter. Not kidding. We could barely eat it. Just as we were about to leave, a young man who just finished his meal walked out the front door and puked his entire meal all over the front entry way sidewalk. He and his father were embarrassed and horrified at the reaction he had. He said he ate the medium hot style. This is a true story. I really wanted it to be great. But their food is not edible. I've never seen a restaurant patron puke up their meal right outside the restaurant entrance. You can say that's a big red flag. Too bad.

Went here for the first time this week & give it 3 stars. I ordered the chicken tenders, medium heat, & a side of hot honey via the drive thru. I had asked how many tenders are in an order and was told 4. It came out to a total of $14 which included tax. When I received my order, I checked if my order was complete and saw only 3 tenders. So I asked the cashier if that was a mistake and he hesitantly told me he got it wrong, that it wasn't 4, just 3 per order... $14 for 3 tenders & a small packet of hoy honey?! Seems incredibly overpriced. The tenders were cooked well & weren't dry which was great, but I was disappointed in the flavor. The medium was almost inedible because it was SO SPICY and I am someone who enjoys spice! I gave a tender to my husband & he also couldn't eat it because it was so spicy. He thought I got extra spicy. Spiciness is subjective but I'm pretty sure most people would agree the medium here is more like extra spicy. I will probably go back in the next few months to try the combo with the sandwich, fries & drink that the other reviews rave about because they appear to be better value but my first experience wasn't great.

incredible chicken sandwich. quality chicken, meaty and moist, and the perfect amount of crisp for my taste. nice variation in spice levels just need to find fits for you. the loaded fries were excellent. nuggets better with more variety available than chick-fil-a. parking easy and nice to have the drive through quick and easy.

Delicious spicy chicken sandwich and fries (non spicy available). Wow.On the slow side for fast casual/fast food (15 minutes plus till I got my food) but seemed made to order. It was jamming 8pm on a Friday night, would have been nice if table has been wiped down. Cheery staff, easy parking. Will be back!

Some rough reviews for a place just starting out - we came here today and really enjoyed it, possibly better than Haven. Good quality chicken, great crunch, soft buns, decent spice on the hot. Fries were good, throughly tossed in shake. Mac and cheese was solid. Interior is big, fresh, appreciated the home alone references.

First of all, I slid and nearly fell on the slippery concrete floor as I entered the restaurant: it's a hazard and a lawsuit waiting to happen. But more importantly, while the chicken is moist and the coating is crisp, the dry seasoning powder is bitter and unpleasant until it gets chewed up with the chicken. And the pickles have some kind of spice - maybe clove? - that is also really off-putting. It seems as though the restaurant is using good-quality ingredients, but not ones that actually taste good or that improve the flavor of the chicken by itself. The one exception to this was their signature sauce, which was flavorful and spicy without being overpowering: for me it saved the meal.
