I can't believe I had never visited Sugar before, but better late than never! My mom requested to go for her birthday, and this bakery is a literal cupcake heaven! The staff was super nice and let us take our time to look through the cases and decide what we were going to pick out for our dozen. So many festive cupcakes for St. Patrick's Day and Easter that we loved! We've totally fallen in love with this bakery and they're by far some of the best cupcakes in CT. I already can't wait to go back!

Always so friendly and helpful and the cupcakes are delicious! My daughter (she's 3) only wanted the veagan cupcake because it was the only one with sprinkles so they made her a cupcake specifically with sprinkles which was very kind, especially because it was Valentine's Day and they were very busy. But they still took the time to make my little girl happy! That speaks volumes. I travel about 40 mins every special occasion as they are my husband's favourite cupcakes (and we love them too!) Worth the trip every time!

Lovely experience. :)Easy to find in East Haven- the sign is not easy to spot but GPS brings you right to the door. Plenty of street parking.The store is in a small strip plaza. It is deceptive at first. However you open the door and are transported into another world- bright, cheerful, trendy gift shop while you wait in line. The line moves very quickly. :) the service is excellent. You can buy individual, 4,6,12 packs. There are cookies and other treats too. Flavors change monthly. And are seasonal.We tried the 6 pack. Delicious. The cupcakes were all moist and not cloying. They were beautifully decorated and transported so well in the wonderful carriers.Each flavor was special and distinct. :)Definitely recommend- wonderful treat and a special experience to enjoy together with your kids. :)

Got a birthday cake for my daughter turning 5. It was a princess cake. Very beautiful cake. Great for pictures but I was not impressed with the taste. I expected something much better for the price they charge and the other reviews I read. Maybe it’s because I’ve never really ordered a confetti flavored cake before but I just did not care for it. Actually nobody at the party finished their piece now that I think about it. I’m used to people raving about the birthday cake when I’ve spent this much money for her other cakes (in the state I lived in prior to CT). I was just disappointed in the flavor and the filling. As I said it was a beautiful cake though.
