The blue hound is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great food, with a creative southern menu, solid prices, and friendly service. Parking can be a tad tricky but I have always been able to find a spot.

We had a party of four for dinner Saturday evening. We started with Gumbo followed by Fried green tomatoes and then the entrees of Jumbalia , meatloaf and grits and everything we tasted was amazing! This is a hidden gem .

Usually its good to very good. Sometimes maybe you get a forgetable plate. Staff has always been much better than normal. This is a great spot if youre doing the local steam train.

We had a nice meal here before the show. I had Salmon with Grits, meatballs, crab/crawfish cake, and cheesecake. They had a nice IPA (Capt Lawrence) as well. A friend liked the chicken creole and my wife had the beet/walnut salad with salmon and enjoyed it. We're not in this area often but when we are this should be a place to return to. Very nice.

The Blue Hound is a gem. Located across from the Ivoryton Playhouse, it's the perfect place for a pre-play meal. The shrimp and grits are the best I've ever had outside of Louisiana. The service was good.

We were the only ones there, so service was friendly and attentive. We don't get any Cajun cuisine where I'm from, so I can't really compare against other places. That said, the gumbo was great. The jambalaya was tasty. The crab cakes were top notch!

First time here, went for dinner before a local show and found this a very pleasant establishment. Choose either the upstairs tap room or downstairs cookery (we chose the tap room). The food is a cut above your typical pub grub. We had the chicken j*** and the portobello sandwich both of which were great - followed by key lime pie and flourless chocolate torte - and accompanied by a very decent IPA. Great service, ambience - thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back if in the area and in the mood!

I had the Southern Fried Chicken and Leslie had the BBQ Fried Chicken. Lucky (our dog) was treated to some bacon and water for his 8th birthday by our waitress who couldn’t be nicer. Nice find!
