After reading a recent article online about this vampire-themed tavern, I decided to try Tansilvania Restaurant and Bar, as it sounded very cool. I went on a Saturday night, and it was decently crowded, but not packed. The parking lot is a little small and strangely laid out, but I was still able to find a spot. Even with a reservation, I had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, but not a big deal... The inside is decorated with images and figurines of Dracula and vampires, which I thought was cool. There's a large bar where you can sit, as well as two separate dining rooms. The waitress brought over sliced bread to start, but with no butter or oil, which I thought was odd. To start, I ordered six Garlic Parmesan Wings, which were really good! Very crispy and delicious. I did have to wait quite a while for wings, and looking around I noticed that my waitress seemed to be the only employee working in the entire restaurant! It took nearly 45-minutes after that for my dinner to come out, which was Wiener Schnitzel (breaded veal cutlet) served with Viennese potatoes and cucumber mint salad. When the waitress brought my food over, she apologized for the wait and confirmed that she was the only server working that night, which I thought was crazy! Apparently it was due to scheduling issues. I watched as my waitress had to apologize to other nearby tables whose food was also taking an unreasonably long time to come out. A lady at another table then ordered a cocktail from the bar, and the waitress came back saying that the bartender was apparently refusing to make drinks! At least one table got tired of waiting and left before their meals came, and at one point the waitress began crying due to being so overwhelmed. I felt so bad for her! Overall, the food was very good, but the management here needs to work on fixing whatever staffing/scheduling issues they are apparently having. I felt it was totally unfair to the one server who was working extremely hard the whole time, and was clearly overwhelmed. I ended up giving her a good tip because she was working so hard!

Rare find! From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcomed. From the food to the amazing staff, it was all delicious and well made. The martini, mojito, and Shirley temple were all flavorful. We loved the chicken wings. My boys couldn't get enough of the fries. It was all topped off with three amazing desserts. We will be back!

Had a 6:30 reservation for 7 people, at 8 pm we left after only being served four drinks and three of four appetizers. It was our first time (and the last time) we have been to the restaurant. The wings were delicious and the waitress was gracious even though the owner was rude to her. We convinced a couple not to go inside as we were leaving. We drove up to Eli’s to have dinner there. :-( I hope the waitress is okay after the night she had. No one should manage an entire dining room by herself, that’s setting up the staff for failure and disappointment to the customers.

This place is wonderful. My wife and I went there for dinner and the food was amazing. While the actual food itself is a niche - the experience itself was fun. The dinner area was beautiful and smelled great. The bar was clean and packed with people. There was a DJ playing music that was really nice. The forks and spoons look medieval! Loved it. Owner and waitress super sweet.

Food was very good , the service impecabil , I be going again , just thinking about of menu my mouth is watering. I live near Hartford area so is not too ease to drive every day to East Haven , but I be back . If you want to eat something different like you find in most restaurants , this is the place . The owner of restaurant Alina the moment you get inside makes you feel you come to family gathering. The prices is not very high , and the portions are big .

Been dying to come here! Picked it for my birthday lunch. Food is out of this world fantastic. The caviasca cheese app and the meatball app were delicious. Goulash - excellent. Meat just melts in your mouth. Can't wait to try dinner here soon, and I want the chicken paprikash!! Fun atmosphere, friendly owner and server. Loved every minute!!

We love this restaurant! It’s not always easy bringing 3 kids to a space but the owner has always made us feel super welcome. Great food and a beautiful space. We will be back many, many times.

This restaurant is a delight and delicious as well. The food is European and full of flavor. I particularly love their Hell’s Burger, great sauce, some heat from the jalapeños, blue cheese, yummy. We like to sit at the bar because the bar tenders are great to talk to. The building itself is really old, but the owners have restored it and it is fabulous. The restaurant is right on The Farm River and they have great outdoor seating on the River.
