Absolutely superb place! I love thé fried chicken skins with lime and crush chili peppers ? all the dishes were spot on. The fried dumplings were crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the inside. The buns for the chicken buns were so soft and crispy fried chicken. Seems like it was cooked with fresh oil. Everything came out hot. The drinks were also good the green tea and mango boba was also available. Enjoyed the service and overall ten out of ten will def try again.

Amazing thai style chicken and rice.Khao Man Gai. They have lots of varieties, classic boiled, fried, different sauces, and the broth is fantastic.I’ve been here a few times with my gf and plan to come plenty more. They’re adding new items to the menu and it has a nice cozy setting.

So excited to have another brilliant addition to the choices of asian food around the Fairfield county. Gai-ja reminds me of the chicken rice you can get in Singapore , the Thai version is just as good :) so glad to have this nearer to home and I don’t have to go into New York City. I ordered mixed (fried and classic). I think it would be the best choice to start with if you are unsure what to get. Also get the coconut dessert if you have a sweet tooth.Yay Gai-Ja Chicken Rice, so happy that you have opened!!!

I’ve been here a few times and both times have been great! I got the mom’s salad with crispy chicken twice and most recently got the chicken bao buns and like chili Winn the as well. The food is great and the staff is friendly. Definitely recommend and will be back - maybe even tomorrow!

I can eat chicken rice every day because my family own and run chicken rice stall back in Malaysia. Thai style chicken rice is different that Malaysia version. I like the Thai chili sauce very much. I wish they use more ginger to their cooking of the rice because it lack of aroma.I wish more people support this small family business. They all work very hard and I looking forward to go back as much asI can, no more Elmhurst NY

Really wanted to love this place, but while it has a homey quality to the food we also found it pretty bland and not very interesting. Might try it again later, love the idea just seemed very basic.

Great chicken place. So happy that we don't need to travel towards NYC to get something like this. They are really more of a take out place but do have a few tables for eat in. We tried the basic items: - chicken noodle soup - salad - chicken combo rice (steam chicken and fried chicken) Everything was pretty tasty! Will be back to try the other items on the menu.

We stumble upon this place while looking for Viet food in the area. We had in regrets in getting our lunch from here. We got the original chicken with ginger rice. Light and easy go to. The sauce did the job as a dripping sauce to the boneless chicken. It is really a pair. Then, we got the fried chicken with sticky rice. This is the weaker choose but we wanted to try both, the original and fried. The chicken is way too seasoned. There is too much cumin which we found it a bit overwhelming. The sticky was so soft and chewy. It's the best of the whole lunch box. Will go back if we are in the area.

I'd come here just to eat the chicken wings over and over again - small (anti jumbo wings), super juicy and tender, but crispy similar to a Korean style. All homemade sauces, which were refreshing to taste on a wing. Great new little spot in Fairfield! Having never eaten nevermind heard of the traditional Thai Street food "Chicken Rice" we were sure of what we were walking into, that said we were not disappointed. We had the mix which had juicy fired dark meat on one side, with the traditional poached breast on the other. Both are unique in flavor and super comforting. Small dining space, but due to the crispiness I'd suggest eating there if you can. Can't wait to come back, and hope they survive the area, as the couple running the place were super nice to talk to about the business, recipes, culture etc.

Delicious + kid friendly + kind, eager owner! We had a fantastic, quick, yummy dinner: edamame, scallion pancake, dumplings, chicken over rice and their signature friend chicken over salad. It was all terrific … highly recommend.

Amazing chicken and rice! Would recommend the hot chicken with extra sauce, and the scallion pancakes. To top it off, quick service!

I was so excited to try Gai-Ja after hearing great reviews. I do have to say, I would not recommend this to anyone. I feel sad giving a bad review, but reviews help me out so much so I have to help others and let them know! The chicken has an extremely "foul" taste. I hope others know what I mean by this. It tasted the way chicken tastes when you put it in the microwave, and I know it was poached not microwaved of course, but it was absolutely disgusting and inedible :( The broth unfortunately had this same exact, foul taste. I was eager to have nice warm soup broth on a rainy day. We ended up tossing everything besides the bao bun. The chicken bao bun was good, but not $5 worthy for a single bun. I prefer Mechas. I wish this place well. The woman working there was very friendly and instructed me how you traditionally eat the meal which was sweet. I unfortunately won't be returning.

If you love Hainanese chicken, you'll love this place! I didn't realize nor have I ever had Thai chicken rice before and it did not disappoint. What we got: the classic hot fried chicken since we were able to dine in and enjoy it fresh. It was super crunchy, flavorful, and moist. Comes with fresh chicken broth on the side to enjoy. My husband had the Neaw Gai Fried chicken and it was also delicious with sticky rice in a bamboo steamer. I wish that I lived near by to get that to go because it won't taste the same in a 25 minute car ride home for me. Was able to get the classic chicken to go and it was very well packed, no leakage, and deliciius at home. The sauce they make is so different and pairs perfectly with the chicken rice and steamed chicken. Pros: Did I mention that we thoroughly enjoyed the food?! The price is certainly fair in this day and age with inflation. The service was great, as the owner came out to chat with us for a bit and they were very accommodating. Presentation is good, as they use authentic Thai cups and such. Cons: a bit of a limited menu as they specialize in chicken and that they don't technically have bathrooms that are easily accessible for dine in since it is so small and seemed to be meant to be as a take out place. You have to go through the kitchen to get to it so they're not really open to letting guests use it.
