I had been a regular at Liana's for many years until moving out of town five years ago. At that time Liana ran the restaurant with her husband and staff with great care for her clients and attention to every detail. She would warmly greet every guest and truly make them feel at home. The food was amazing. People would drive from near and far. I recently revisited and was completely disappointed, especially after spending more than two-hundred dollars. There was no one to welcome us, no person managing the restaurant, and the wait staff was completely overwhelmed. The food was average at best. Sad experience. I won't be back but wish Liana well in her retirement.

Have not been here in a couple of years. Always enjoyed in the past and were excited to return. Atmosphere seemed much colder then the past. Was not very clean, dirty window sills with dead bugs and dirt, cob webs hanging from the the chandeliers. Food was the saving grace, all items were very goos from the burrata to the gnocchi and the other pastas we had were very good. i hope they can "clean up" and maybe i will return.

I ordered the gnocchi with meat sauce and it was simply delicious! The sauce was flavorful and had hints of basil. The gnocchi itself was soft and silky, not mushy like some places who attempt to serve this dish.I am happily surprised with how delicious it tasted!I ordered take out on a Wednesday night and it was ready within 15-20 minutes, and it came with four small pieces of warm bread.$24 for a decent portion.

We celebrated a birthday last night and had a wonderful meal at Liana's. We started with the Zucchini Rollatini and the beautifully prepared Bruschetta with prosciutto. Three of us opted for the Linguini with white clam sauce and found loaded with fresh clams and a beautiful broth. One of us ordered the Gnocchi with a meat sauce, and said that the dish met the description on the menu, they were truly fluffy and light. We had very little room left for dessert but shared the amazing coconut cake. We can't wait to go back!

A small friendly neighborhood restaurant. They put so much love into cooking, it shows on every plate. Make reservations so you don't get shut out. I think a must-go for all Fairfielders

A strong reopening. The food here is just as amazing as it was before having to temporarily close….like you’ve walked into the house of your Italian grandma’s kitchen. 10/10 recommend.

I feel like we found a hidden gem tonight. The pasta was fresh, the service was great and the best Alfredo sauce I’ve probably ever had. Even the bread was perfectly warmed and the butter nice and creamy. It was such a great meal!

We "dined" at Liana's last night and had one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences of all time. We came in right after they opened for the evening (5:30) and took a seat at the bar. At the time, there was only one other group of diners in the restaurant. We were handed menus fairly quickly by the one server working in the restaurant and then proceeded to order a glass of wine each. The bartender came over at one point and we ordered dinner. He didn't write anything down, but I didn't think too much of it at the time. We sat there with a glass of water each, our wine and a bread basket with three pieces of bread until about 6:50 when I was finally able to make eye contact with the bartender (who had taken our order) and inquire about the food we ordered. No one had checked on us up until that point. The wine was long gone, so was the water and the bread. When he went into the kitchen to check on our food, he came back and told us there was no record of our order. I told him we would just take the check for our wine and leave. He got our check and then didn't come back to take our credit card. We had to borrow money from a lovely couple next to us in order to have enough cash to leave! We were so upset by the lack of attention, the failure to submit our order to the kitchen, and then even having to pay for the wine we had after waiting an hour and a half for nothing. I don't know how they can make this right, but they did not seem to want to do anything last night to help turn the experience around. It was so frustrating!

FYI - As of 02/16/2022 Liana's Trattoria does not have a SERVE SAFE CERTIFICATE, No Employee, Manager or Owner has the Certificate, this is something to think about."The ServSafe Manager Certification verifies that a manager or person-in-charge has sufficient food safety knowledge to protect the public from foodborne illness. ... The ServSafe Manager Certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the Conference for Food Protection Standards."

The Gorgonzola gnocchi was outstanding. Creamy sauce, light and airy gnocchi. The Gorgonzola was not at all too overpowering. BYOB was a nice surprise. We will be back soon.

We have always LOVED Liana's and have been there dozens of times over the years. Liana's has always had excellent service and exceptional delicious food. Be warned... this place is NOT the same! Everything has changed for the worse. The service was not good and the servers were extremely inexperienced. We had to ask for menus, for wine glasses, for water. After ordering, we waited TWO SOLID HOURS for the entrees. We kept looking around and every single table in the restaurant had NO food. The servers disappeared for most of the 2 hours. However, we kept our cool bc we were looking forward to Liana's food. At one point, about 90 minutes into the 2 hour wait, the host came over to ask us (and the table next to us) what we had ordered. Ugh, that was NOT reassuring. When the entrees finally arrived, we were surprised to discover the food is simply NOT the same at all. The Chicken Milanese was extremely bland w no salt or lemon flavor, and the cutlet was dry/overcooked. The Salmon Picatta on the menu is described as having "tomatoes, spinach, new potatoes and a fennel saffron broth". The salmon entree we received had no broth, no tomatoes, no spinach, no potatoes. It was just an unseasoned plain piece of salmon with some undercooked asparagus. When we were finally done with our meal and ready to go home after such a long ordeal, we could not find any server to bring our check. We finally located the host, who was sitting down at a table chatting with people, and we had to ask him for our check. We were so excited about Liana's reopening, but this is NOT the same place! P.S. Not one single employee was masked. When we entered the restaurant wearing our masks (which is our personal prerogative), the host said something to the effect of "you don't need to be wearing that". Absolutely unprofessional!

A beautiful small Italian eatery. Generational recipes and great hospitality makes this a wonderful spot to visit more then once.
