Ordered via DoorDash. Village Bagel charges extra for items usually included in other delis and then ignores the request. Multiple sandwiches were missing extra items that were paid for. Very disappointed.

The first thing l noticed when l walked through the door was how clean it was, so l proceeded to order my favorite bagel, garlic. But being so delicious it was sold out. Then l saw the case with the best looking muffins on the planet ! I ordered a chocolate crunch muffin and it tasted as good as it looked !! They have a large selection of these amazing muffins ! They are amazing and l am not ex aggerating. There is a rather extensive menu placed high up on the wall behind the many cases filled with all different spreads for bagels and sandwich spreads. You must go see for yourself and eat there . I was so happy with everything l think this is a great place to become a 'regular' and always find something to enjoy. You can have your coffee just the way you like it too. Nice casual atmosphere with excellent service.Parking: Plenty of parking close to the entrance.

Rude Service From The Lady Who Takes Orders…“I won’t be back until I know she has been either reprimanded, trained in correct customer service, or fired. And other customers should beware too. ”(Full Story)For started I tried calling in my order as I do each time I order from here. The same rude woman who is always in the front taking orders interrupted me yelling, “HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON.” No worries I said because with a popular breakfast place I get it. However tone and demeanor was rude when she put me on hold. Unbeknownst to me she put me on hold in hopes of me hanging up. I proceeded to walk into the store while still on hold. The time it took me to get from where I was coming from to the store, was still not long enough for her to come back to the phone. When I walked in the store, I ordered my food and said you left me on the phone, and she said… “We’re busy, what do you want to order?” Instead of apologizing she had a rude demeanor again while I was ordering in person.First of all, no one made you work this job and if you are not a good fit for that type of role, quit. When you are apart of face to face customer service, you serve as the face of the company you work for. To which I can say Village Bagels needs to do better with who they let represent their company. I don’t know the woman’s name but she has consistently been the one taking orders on the side and has always been rude and disrespectful to customers. Other people I mentioned this experience have expressed that they take the trip to Westports Village bagels because their customer service is far better than Fairfield’s, to which I agree.I won’t be back until I know she has been either reprimanded, trained in correct customer service, or fired. And other customers should beware too.

I almost never take the time to write reviews, but my current experience prompted me.My family and I are frequent customers, and enjoy Village Bagels in Fairfield at least one or two times weekly.I placed a phone order for two sandwiches today. Upon pick up, I was given a bag with two sandwiches that were not my order.I didn’t realize this until arriving home. I called the shop and was told I ‘decided to take the wrong order of sandwiches’ and that I was asked if it was the order. Excuse me? No one asked me anything when I picked up; I was handed a bag and paid for them.I was told I could come and pick up the correct order. There was absolutely no apology made, nor any offer to compensate for the trouble. When I asked for compensation, I was told that it’s not possible.I have never in my life been spoken to in this way before as a customer anywhere.Needless to say, my shock and disappointment are enough to no longer patronize the shop. We’ve never had an issue before at this location and have always been treated with friendly, kind and professional service by the whole staff.I felt it was important for you to know how the staff may choose to handle a situation such as this differently in the future.A very simple offer of apology and/or offer to compensate for their error would’ve gone such a long way, so it’s a shame that there was such a lack of awareness.

Was served by man who was a big sports fan. Big douchebag, ignored what we wanted and was too busy trying to argue with customers about NY football teams to make the bagels. He took extra long to make the two bagels we ordered and barely put any cream cheese on one of the bagels and hummus on the other bagel. Eating the bagels was more bread than spread. The bagels themselves were good and the sundried tomato cream cheese as well. The hummus was horrible - lacked flavor texture and tasted so plain. I believe it is not even salted or seasoned in any way (this was the roasted red pepper hummus). The other staff was very nice but this guy was overbearing on them and rude telling the staff to work quick despite being so slow and absorbed, pouncing to argue with anyone that wore NY Giants merch.

Pros:Very good, but not great, bagels, pleasant staff, quick service. Among the better bagels I have had in this area, but nowhere near the best NYC/Westchester bagel quality. Cons:Worn, uncomfortable booths. No fresh brewed iced tea available (herbal would be great)It would be wonderful if they would stock vegan cream cheese for customers who are dairy intolerant or vegan.

As someone who works in NYC and lives just outside of NYC, I can be a bit of a bagel snob. I was pleasantly surprised though by the quality of the bagels from this shop in Fairfield. My friends got a dozen to go with two spreads when we visited them this weekend and they were really good! I tried the cinnamon raisin and it had a great texture and taste. I didn't even have to toast it. They said there's always a long line in the mornings so best to go early. I was a fan!

Stopped in last Friday... lousy place. Poor bagels, not clean and staff was basically rude. Save your money and skip

My experience lately at Village is just not what it used to be. The bagels used to taste fresh, dense and consistent. Nowadays, I feel rushed by the staff, they get my order wrong, and the bagel tastes like it was made yesterday/dry as can be. Despite this, their schmears are top notch, and the sandwich selection is vast. Fairfield needs their undisputed bagel shop, and village should reclaim that with some tweaks.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. This place is a complete rip off. They put no cream cheese on their bagels, so I go in and say can I have some extra cream cheese on my bagel. Immediately, the women says $5 dollars for extra cream cheese. I was so shocked - why were throwing out that number for a little extra cream cheese on a bagel? I told her I am not paying $5 for extra cream cheese on a bagel- I can go to the grocery store and buy an entire container for 3 or 4. Then she says ok $2.50 for extra cream cheese. I cannot for the life of me understand why she was haggling with me over the price of cream cheese, don’t you have a set menu with prices? It’s not a strange request. In the end for one bagel with cream cheese and one bacon egg and cheese my total was $14. What a complete and utter rip off. They pull the prices out of nowhere, everytime I go in and get the same things it’s a different price. Honestly don’t waste your money for a mediocre bagel and nasty workers.
