I wanted to visit my ex coworker Zach @ J Gilberts and maybe get a Burger cuz that's what I had my only time there and its one of the best burgers I've ever had. Plus I didnt want to go too crazy. But when I got there Zach told me about the 16Oz Dry Aged Kansas City Strip Steak Special that they had. I decided to go all out cuz I wantedto see if their steaks measured up to their reputation. Zach recommended a Pinot Noir from Washington that was a perfect pairing for the steak. I gotta say the green beans that I had with a jam and crumbled pecans were insanely good with the garlic mashed potatoes. AND the steak had a nice charred exterior with a perfect juicy medium rare interior. I decided to treat myself and if you are ever thinking of doing the same go to J Gilberts and ask for Zach....you won't be disappointed....you will have one of your best restaurant experiences of your life!

Dinner for party of 6. Entire menu is scratch made, and that's how I love to eat. Well seasoned, well prepared. Price point on par for the quality of the food. Cannot wait to return for another delicious meal and attentive service.

Dine at J Gilbert’s 3-4 times a year for many years with a group of 4 people. First time this was awful - a worst time. Wine inventory was a joke. Ordered three different bottles; 2 were sold out? Third choice was not up to par for price. And server had poured wine before I could taste and evaluate. Chose not to turn it down as a courtesy to our guests. Where do you store your wine as it when opened it tasted warm and never opened up?? Was not in 56-65 degree temp? It tasted mediocre for a Jordan Vineyard; never opened up. The daily special, a bone-in strip steak was tough. Plate kept shifting on the table as I tried to cut it. Ordered rare - was actually more towards raw. Most disappointing visit - not what we expect from J Gilberts.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary (27 years). The first time we came was a few years ago and we had such an amazing experience. Tonight we were finally able to come back and the experience was amazing again. Everything from our drinks to appetizers, the entrees and dessert were top notch. Gosh I haven't had a great steak like the one I had Tonight. The 18oz. Bone-in Ribeye was cooked to perfection. Our server recommended the truffle butter to go over the steak and it was the perfect touch. It was paired well with a side of au gratin potatoes and creamed corn. Gosh what a meal! My wife was super happy with her steak as well. We definitely have to come back again soon. J. Gilbert's, thank you for an amazing night.

J Gilbert's did not disappoint. I made a reservation to celebrate both myself and friend birthday and upon arrival we had decorations on the table. The waiter was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was amazing and the staff was kind enough to bring us ice cream to end the evening. I highly recommend this establishment but do recommend you make a reservation as it's very busy
Very disappointed in the food. Filet not good as ordered, small baked potato, overly salted green beans with pecans, blah mashed potatoes. The lump crab cakes didn't disappoint but the rest of the meal did. No one likes spending $180 for two only to walk away disappointed. I want recommend them after our last experience.

I have been going to this restaurant for over 22 years, and have literally never had a complaint about anything. he food is ALWAYS exquisitely prepared, and the device is beyond the realm. Evan, our server, was incredibly thorough and attentive. The wine list is unsurpassed. Yes, Opus One is there.

As always, food is great. However, our server Michelle, was exceptional in every aspect. I must say I eat out often and Michelle was by far one of the best servers I've ever experienced. Kudos to Michelle and I hope you do what you can to keep her.
