Good, fat sandwiches and great service. The turkey was very fresh and tasty. Also, I had ordered a gluten free sandwich online and they called to confirm that it was an allergy as to prevent cross contamination. I sincerely appreciated this gesture.

One of the kinds of sandwiches. The beef eater reminds me of McDonald's Big Mac with their homemade Russian dressing tasting similar to the Big Mac sauce. Only wish they brought back their black bread hard rolls, when the original owner had.

This qualifies as a good sandwich?I ordered an Italian, it was all lettuce and tomatoes. Two slices of provolone. A few slices of salami. Dripping with vinegar and single wrapped in paper that it melted through.Don’t worry, they put a napkin in the bag that absorbed the vinegar and left me with nothing to wipe my hands on, so that was useful. I was able to use all the extra lettuce to help absorb the vinegar mess.

I’ve been coming to Alpen Pantry for more than 20 years. The sandwiches are absolutely fantastic—the best around! The new owner has done a great job of sprucing the place up, cannot recommend Alpen Pantry enough!!!

Great sandwich and friendly service. A win-win! It looks too empty and bright when you enter but the owner and or sandwich maker lit up the place and then proceeded to make an excellent chicken sandwich on a baguette which two of us split. We look forward to trying other sandwiches here.

I recently went here for the first time. I've lived in Greenwich my whole life and can't believe it has taken me this long to discover this absolute GEM. I love when a place focuses on one thing and does it right. For Aplen it's the cold sandwiches and they do it the BEST. The sandwiches are very simple, but details like dressings from scratch, tearing the cold cuts while placing it on the bread, and the finely shredded lettuce make it outstanding. Their "Black Bread", pumpernickel, is soft and moist like cake. I tried 3 of their fan favorites; The Stilton, The Bomber, and The Bearnaise. I honestly can say they were all amazing. I can't wait to go back to try all of their menu. I know their sandwiches sound so basic, I thought that too, but that's what makes it so mind blowing. If you're in the area of Old Greenwich, this is a HAVE TO TRY. If you stop in from this review, tell'em Mike sent you.
