Love this place. The food is good, the place feels like an old school diner sponsored by Coca-Cola. Our server was attentive, sweet, and cute. Definitely stop here if your looking to get away from the casino.

Very friendly staff and food came out quickly. No complaints here. my husband and I couldn't finish our plates. Large portions and I love that they ask if you want onions in your home fries.

Well, we wouldn't know how good it was or not, apparently you have to be a regular to get service there. While we sat right away, and got drinks from someone else, our waitress was too busy talking about her vacation to even acknowledge us. She took 2 orders and never even looked our way. We won't be going back. Thanks for nothing, Charlene!

Always met with smiling faces from the staff. Great food and great atmosphere, good selection of rotating seasonal specials. One of the best hidden gem diners around.

Charlene's Diner in Jewett City, CT, easily secures four stars as the best breakfast spot in the area. It has become my family's go-to choice when no one feels like cooking in the morning. The corned beef hash and sausage gravy over biscuits are standout dishes that never disappoint. The staff's friendliness adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making it a reliable and enjoyable dining experience.

We went to Charlene's for the first time yesterday, and what a great decision it was! First off we met our server Brianna who we now know is the Granddaughter of Charlene! We also know that Brianna's mother also works there with other family members! Brianna had the best personality, and was so nice in her explanation of the menu, and suggestions. Then the food came, and it was amazing! We had the breakfast ( see pics) and we loved all of it! If you like a hidden gem that is locally owned and operated by family like us.. then you too should go check this place out! Thanks Brianna! See you really soon!! Can't wait to try lunch!

We were looking for a nice breakfast on our way home from Foxwoods. Found Charlene's a mile off the highway & loved it! Service was great, super cute diner atmosphere, and food was really good! I got half a Belgian waffle with strawberries & an egg sandwich (couldn't eat it all) but both were fabulous. Top 5 breakfast I've ever had

The breakfast here is great; the experience- not so much! Initially there was a person tying up the waitress with his blah-blah as she tried to escape (it happens), then we were seated when he finally went on his way . A man then came stood right behind us and talked to the customers in the booth in a BOOMING voice about his cats (here's a picture), this lasted about 20 minutes and it was excruciating (she wanted to see the picture). The people in the booth behind made eyes at us like- is this really happening? Yes, it was and it wasn't entertaining. This man leaves and- goes to the back in the kitchen!!! apparently, he owns the place or works there??? Glad we had been served before because the other tables were waiting....because....cats. An hour and a half later we made our escape. Go if you have time, lots and lots of time. And are hard of hearing.
