Excellent food and staff. My wife and I went for an early dinner for our wedding anniversary recently, Joe was our server and made it a truly special and memorable experience. When my wife mentioned that it was our anniversary, he brought us over 2 beers in fluted champagne glasses to help us celebrate along with our refills. Really nice and unexpected. I had the hot lobster roll, my wife the blackened chicken and both were phenomenal. Great food, service and live music too! We will be back!

Three of us went for lunch today and ended up not eating a thing. We walked in and were seated right away. Our drink order was taken 45 minutes after that we still didn’t have drinks. Our server came over and told us they couldn’t make the drinks we wanted so we ordered two more drinks. Another 10 minutes went by. He came back over and told us they couldn’t make those drinks, so we went with something simple, a soda and a beer. When he first came over, we ordered appetizers and our food all at once with our drinks after an hour we still didn’t have our appetizer. A woman came over and told us they were short staffed in the kitchen. They hadn’t even started our meals and now it’s over an hour we ended up canceling our whole order and she comped us our drinks and we left. I don’t believe I will ever go back there to give it another shot. We were looking for nice and enjoyable lunch, some cocktails, and we ended up with sandwiches from across the street that were delicious.

My husband and I went in the afternoon with our twin four year olds who have severe nut allergies (anaphylactic). The bartender was our server and was absolutely amazing. VERY allergy friendly, we had the best dining out experience we've had in at least a year and I wish we lived closer! We will definitely be back.

Delicious hot lobster roll! The ambiance is wonderful. As a visitor to Connecticut, they made me feel right at home and recommended all kinds of places for me around Mystic. Yahtzee behind the bar was so gracious and sweet. It’s a must stop in town for a bite and a brew!

If you haven’t tried Chapter One in Mystic yet you are definitely missing out… I have been there multiple times now and each experience is better than the last. From the atmosphere to the service and most definitely the food, everything is amazing! If you are a martini drinking the espresso martini is a must!! Melissa was so accommodating and made our night great. For appetizers I had the oysters, so fresh! The mango habanero wings were to die for! Nachos were amazing, all the toppings were fresh and portions were great. We also weren’t sitting there waiting, the food came out fast. For an entree I had the Cajun chicken pasta which was seasoned perfectly along with the portions being big enough to bring home leftovers to enjoy all over again at home! Another entree was the steak dinner I cannot begin to tell you how amazing it was, not undercooked, not over cooked, just perfect!!!! The lobster blt I’m told by one of my girlfriends who had it for dinner was also amazing and fresh ( I’m allergic). After sitting, lounging, and eating with friends, the scene switched from relaxing dining to an upbeat nightlife, but we didn’t feel pushed out at all, we were still able to sit and talk and enjoy the rest of our time there. Before going, make sure to check out the awesome nightly specials they have for different days of the week! Hats off to the chef/kitchen manager Natasha each meal felt like it was made personally for everyone at the table. It was a great night and i’ll deffinetly be visiting more often.

We so wanted to like this restaurant, but we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. Atmosphere was fine - but it is really just a bar. All hi-top tables. Our waitress was lovely and the service was fine- although our appetizers were served prior to our cocktails. There wasn't anybody else dining in the restaurant so we figured that's why the food was coming out so quickly. Perhaps we ordered the wrong food - and should've stuck to bar food - like burger and nachos- but we were hungry and wanted a nice dinner. Here we go: ONION SOUP: lots of onions, not so much broth, a ton of croutons and some cheese- it just was mushy! CAPRESE SALAD: told us they were out of basil but we still ordered- tomatoes were mealy and the mozz pastey. I should have sent back because I do not think the mozz was fresh. BOLOGNESE: yikes. maybe had 3 bites and could do no more. Tasted - fake? FILET MIGNON at $40 - HUGE NO! Looked gray with char stripes across meat. Mashed potatoes were glossy and literally glue/paste like. Broccoli- was gritty- liked sand in it? SIDE OF ASPARAGUS: color off /yellow green and mushy on both ends- should have sent back! We told waitress about the vegetables and she was apologetic. But my bill with 2 cocktails - was $163 plus tip - the worst $193 ever spent!!! VERY disappointing experience for us. Hoping it was an off night for them cause they are in a prime location. But seriously - horrible food experience for us.
