Oh the Groton Townhouse... this place is huge, and rarely full. It's a diner that has a menu that's four times too large, and service that's average at best. If you want diner food, I recommend the Denny's in New London. I've had acceptable breakfast food here, but I've also tried the zeti with meatballs, and I was served a gigantic meatball the size of a baseball, and it was raw in the middle. I haven't been back since then. Prices are fairly high.

It's what you'd come to expect from an excellent Diner, and it definitely has something of a family atmosphere, as well as one of "community" from the locals who live in the area. It's a diner, and not some highbrow restaurant, but considering what it is, I gave it five stars across the board. The portions are not tiny, but they're not tremendously large either, but it certainly is delicious, the service is friendly & decent-good (some visits I've had to flag-down my waitress to ask for a coffee refill, which I then soon recieved; & the staff is good with removing finished plates & trash from your table), & it's busy but roomy "diner" atmosphere is nice.

Heard a lot of good things, gave it a shot while out of state on vacation. Seating and service were quick. Food was Just Okay. Definitely worth a shot for a simple meal with decent portion sizes, your experience may be better. Wasn't for me. Would stop by again only if I was in a hurry on travels. There wasn't much of a crowd during the afternoon.
