Food was amazing!! My favorite dish was the lobster bisque. Service was a little slow due to the popularity. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming.Kid-friendliness: I took my kids who are 4 and 7 and they also enjoyed it. They have a kids menu with plenty of options such as grilled cheese and many other kid friendly foods like pizza and soups.

On February 19, 2024, a group of friends and I decided to celebrate a birthday with lunch at Olio. Our waitress, Jennifer, displayed an extremely rude and nonchalant attitude throughout our meal. When I placed my order, I specifically asked if the pork chop came with gorgonzola bacon wrapped potatoes, to which she assured me it did. However, when my food arrived, it was served with risotto mixed with vegetables instead. When I brought up the discrepancy, Jennifer initially denied any mistake and then offered mashed potatoes with gravy instead. She seemed indifferent to the inconvenience caused and even pretended not to recall our initial conversation. Jennifer and a colleague rudely interrupted me while I was eating, insisting that I show them the menu online. They claimed it wasn't their menu. However, when I scrolled to the top and it clearly stated "Olio," Jennifer begrudgingly acknowledged it as their menu. Despite showing her the menu detailing the dish I had ordered, she continued to dismiss my concerns. Furthermore, Jennifer's attitude extended to the entire table of eleven guests, making our experience even more unpleasant. It was disappointing to witness her lack of professionalism and refusal to rectify the situation. The fact that the restaurant staff, including Jennifer's colleague, seemed unaware of their own menu added to the frustration. In the end, the poor service we received overshadowed what should have been a celebratory occasion, and none of us plan to return to Olio due to this experience."

Went to Olio for Valentine's Day and had an enjoyable experience. Brussel sprouts appetizer was delicious with the right amount of crisp and bacon. There is a pretty wide variety on the menu, but we opted for the shrimp caper dish with angel hair, and the mushroom chicken gnocchi. The shrimp pasta dish was not something I've had before, and while I enjoyed it, I'll probably try something else next time. The gnocchi dish was very tasty. For dessert we got the banana raviolis with malt ice cream and chocolate and caramel drizzle. There was a lot going on with the dish, but I enjoyed every bit of it. One thing that took away from the experience was the lighting which for most of the evening was flickering and giving a nice gentle strobe effect. Only so much they can do about that in the moment and the staff commented on it too, so I'm sure they'll fix it asap. Overall enjoyable experience and would like to try some more of their food!

One of our favorite spots for Lunch and dinner. I love the cheeseburger salad and most appetizers. This place is kid friendly but the atmosphere in the evening is dim so not for toddlers in my opinion. The cocktails are great. The price is great for a girls night or a date night!

I Was surprised that most people seem to have a good experience with this restaurant judging by the reviews. Unfortunately, we did not. Staff was unwelcoming and food was just alright. Calamari was very basic as was the majority of the food we ordered. Drinks were just okay. Our waitress seemed to not be in a good mood or was just super unfriendly. First time at Olio and probably will never go back.

This place is amazing. The manager was so kind and friendly! Our waitress Liz was so sweet and made us feel so welcome even though she was so busy and we were her farthest table. We really had a great meal and great service! THANK YOU LIZ.

I stop by Olio anytime I travel to Groton or Mystic. It's a homey and delicious bar restaurant. The food is non traditional Italian comfort food, made with fresh pasta and local ingredients. When asking for recommendations, our server suggested their most popular dish, the Lobster Linguine. Absolutely delicious. The chef also produces daily specials that are seasonal and inventive, plus their cocktails are equally creative. This place is not to be missed.

These warm, friendly people welcomed us at 8 pm (closing time) when we arrived tired and starving from a nasty Ledyard Board of Education meeting where we actually watched them rudely turn their backs on their own students who came to speak. Never saw anything like it in my long life in 5 states.Olio food, as usual, was outstanding in every way as was their friendly service! Will be back!
