Great atmosphere and comfortable seats. Everything I ordered tasted great but was cold. The clam chowder was cold, the steak was cooked perfectly but cold and the hot lava cake was indeed served to me cold.

Our waitress was good and the ny strip meal was very good. Our calamari app was heavy on the peppers and light on the actual calamari. However, I liked how it was made...crunchy. The clam chowder was very good too. But, we sat on the long booth like side. My girlfriend was sitting up higher than she liked above me in a regular seat. She also felt cold air on her neck as she sat with her back to the window. These points are the reason for my average rating.

The food is subpar, mediocre, and you pay high prices for inedible food. There is no chef in the kitchen but the prices are high for a cook who microwaves your calamari, does know how to cut a tomato and they serve iceberg lettuce. Avoid this place and make a reservation early elsewhere.

We had reservations at 7 pm. It was a full house. Our waitress informed us before we were finished that we had to pay our tab because she had to get to another job. For the price, the food was mediocre & the service was terrible.

convenient, comfortable place, nice view of town green at window tables, modern, sleek decor, a little dark in terms of lighting had lunch with 3 others on a Feb Saturday at noon hamburger was just ok - nothing special - spicy sauce was not spicy ice tea was terrible - powder type??, cobb salad was huge with a lot of variety price was about $22 pp, very reasonable

Loved the music by Marie & Steve before during and after our dinner. My seared Tuna over stir fried veggies & rice was perfectly seared, beautifully presented & delicious.

Been here several times and it is on my list of favorite restaurants in the area. The food is always outstanding. During the warmer months, the patio out back is very nice to enjoy, but the view from inside looking over Guilford's fabulous Green is also very pleasant. Perfect for brunch, lunch, and dinner. My favorites include the breakfast nachos (brunch), fried chicken sandwich (lunch), and either the scallop risotto or cajun chicken pasta (dinner). The creative rotating cocktail menu and bottomless mimosas never disappoint. I would not recommend trying to squeeze this in if you are in a hurry. Service can sometimes be slow when they are busy, but if you have the time to sit back and relax, you won't be disappointed.

Was a great place for date night, sitting at the front window watching people walk by. Food was very tasty, everything came out cooked to perfection. Truffle fries are a great app. Pesto chicken pasta was the perfect amount of basil and cream. Great dinner.

This was our second time dining at Chapter One-Guilford. The food was not as good as the last visit. Our server was ok,but a little strange personality-wise and forgot to put in our appetizer order.

I really want to give this spot a good review. The service is excellent, attentive and warm. The food is just avg. The Ceasars Salad had too.little dressing and when we asked for.more on the side we received some flavorless Uber thick side.. not sure what it was. The bolonese had very little.meat. it was a tomatoe sauce with a few very small.meatballs. the wings were very good tho. We will.try it again. We want to see it succeed but the quality of the food didn't match the appeal of the menu selections.

Unfortunately the two soups ordered were barely warm and the chowder crackers were only brought only upon request and then served when the soup was finished. The soups would have been good if they were hot. The ranch dressing that was supposed to come with the chicken wrap never came making the wrap dry. The “hot” lobster roll was reportedly very good but I don't know if it was ”hot”. It was supposed to be a special lunch which unfortunately wasn't! As the “host” of our group I was disappointed. i expected more. I will not be going back soon.

What a great meal we had. I had the Zuppa di Pesce which was full of clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, white fish, and a small lobster tail on top in a delicious zesty marinara sauce. I did not have it with pasta , which was offered. It was very tasty. Although only one waitress was handling all the tables, she did a fantastic job and clearly knew what she was doing. It was a lovely night.

We went for a girlfriend brunch. Service was excellent, our super-friendly waitress looked after us beautifully. The only issue we had was that three of the four Eggs Benedict were actually like hard-boiled eggs rather than the soft, gooey goodness Eggs Benny should be like. The lobster on them, however, was very good, moist and tasty, and there was enough Hollandaise sauce to keep everything on the plate moist enough. We decided not to let the eggs bother us too much, as the overall taste was good. The truffle fries we shared were habit-forming...
