Very nice people, great Chinese food spot, and the woman who works the desk is super cool, friendly, and welcoming. They pack the food very well, and it's always fresh& hot. They are closed one day on a weekday, and I believe it's a Tuesday. But it is worth it. I've been going here for about 5 or 6 years.

Picked up take out late afternoon; while I was waiting their phone never stopped ringing for ordering & waiting with me were 3 others coming/going; a nice woman told me her husband works nearby & orders food from here all the time, as does her son who drives from East Haven as he feels their Chinese selections worth the ride. First time I ordered Fried WonTons the tastiest since having them in the 1970's from South Seas Restaurant in West Htfd. & Egg Roll perfect too. Can't wait to try the 2 small dishes ordered, with helpful suggestions from the pleasant owner, along with his 3 other cooks. Try this--well worth it! LHS 1/12/2024

We went to connecticut zoo today. And when returning back home . Just googled and stopped by to have dinner. (Well. To be honest , my husband was attracted by the outdoor table, and when we arrived, we found there is no so called table ? )BUT , To our surprise. The owners are SUPER FRIENDLY, smilingly, they can even cook the food accordingly to the taste we like . The portion is HUGE . The spring roll is Hugest ever I’ve seen , To be honest , we’ve been to several take out restaurants every time when we go visiting all kinds of museums parks and zoos , they’ve been the most impressive one !We will certainly come back ! ❤️

One of the worst Chinese food experiences we have had in CT. Ordered General Tso chicken for my college aged son who took a couple of bites and pushed it away saying “nope”. So I tried it and tasted like sugar and fried cornstarch with a way too sweet sauce. No vegetables came with it… just globs of this gooey stuff and hardly any chicken inside the globs. I mean, this is a basic and common American Chinese dish not known being super healthy but eating this is guaranteed to take days off your life. There are other Chinese establishments nearby that serve same dish and you can taste the chicken, less sugary and comes with broccoli. This was a one star experience.

Super amazing service. ? i had ordered the boneless spare ribs with the fried rice. The spare rib meat was in very large pieces with very little to no fat. Super good and tender. Someone shared with me the chicken wings they ordered here as well and i wish id ordered them instead. The wings are very small but where they lack in size they make up for in amazing flavor! I can tell this restaurant cares about their food and knows what they are doing!

First Garden Chinese Restaurant has been a favorite in Guilford for many years. Recently, a new a new family took ownership and the food has been excellent. My husband and I recently enjoyed delicious shrimp with Chinese vegetables and chicken with broccoli. Portion size is quite good and prices are reasonable. I highly recommend First Garden for authentic Chinese cuisine.

Food is ok. The vegetable fried rice was bland.

This is a take out place. We were staying in the hotel across the street. We walked, bought the food, and ate it back at the hotel room. The menu is pretty extensive and the food is reasonably priced, there's something for everyone. I think a lot of the locals buy food from there, since a few people walked in and out to pick up their orders, while we were waiting for ours. My husband and I enjoyed the food and the big portions. I had chicken and broccoli with fried rice and my husband had the pork ribs with fried rice. Also, we bought two egg rolls and we weren't able to eat all the food in one sitting.
