We ordered 2 lunch specials today, Penne ala vodka with grilled chicken, and Sole Francesse. Both meals were substantial considering it was a lunch special, and both were very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I should have taken photos before we ate, but here is one anyway lol. Second time we've ordered lunch specials; very pleased and will do so again.

Be sure you read or ask for a description when you are ordering pizza. I ordered a large veggie for pickup. When I got it home it smelled great coming out of the box. But it just didn't have much in the way of flavor and seemed dry. I checked it out more closely and saw that they had forgotten the tomato sauce! I phoned them and learned that they never use tomato sauce on their veggie pizza- it's just always served white. Well in my book it shouldn't be. Too dry and not much flavor. I never would have ordered it if I had know. So caveat emptor.

The place isn't bad. I was speaking to who I believed was the owner who came out to greet me. I asked about lunch specials and wanted to do a personal pizza. The guy suggested instead 2 slices since it was cheaper and I went with that. Its was OK. Both slices of pizza were solid, but was burnt. I'm not sure why it was, but for the money it well worth the price since I was able to eat it and it wasn't completely a waste. I'm curious to try other items, but we'll see if I return.

Had to drive into Hamden, CT for the first time. After driving over an hour, we were ready to stop for a bite to eat. Didn't want to waste a lot of time searching and came across Primo Pizza. The staff was pleasant and friendly. Ordered from their all day breakfast menu as we hadn't had breakfast yet. Choices were plentiful. Had the sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. They were tasty and hit the spot. Prices were reasonable for the food. Tiny place but a hidden treasure. Will definitely be back if we ever find ourselves in that area again.

Underwhelming experience altogether. I ordered a 6pc mozzarella stick, which was pretty good! I also ordered a spinach calzone and small margarita pizza. The mozzarella sticks were seasoned nicely and the cheese was decent quality. They seemed to be pre frozen and re-heated, but I can't knock that at all...everyone does that with mozzarella sticks. They were breaded and seasoned well. No parts were too bready or empty. I had a NICE cheese pull coming from these bad boys. The calzone was just not cooked all the way through. I'm not even expecting it to be like new haven style charred or anything but it was spongy in some spots. No crunch to be had anywhere. The cheeses were decent quality, can't complain about that. The cheese blend was balanced nicely, not too much mozzarella not too much ricotta. There was something missing, it felt like no seasoning went in to the mix. The dough had this weird matzo cracker taste to it. No crunch on this! The spinach was alright, wasn't good or bad either way. I just feel like it wasn't cooked all the way through. Everything kinda had a yeasty/flour taste to it. It was more like a wet pita pocket than a calzone. The pizza was just ok. Didn't look at all like the advertisement, but that's to be expected. the mozzarella cheese seemed of decent quality. They claimed there would be fresh basil on the pizza but that was just not true. It was dry ground basil out of a McCormick seasoning shaker. The garlic seemed to be legit though, it wasn't garlic powder or dried granulated garlic. Def seemed to be fresh garlic. The tomatoes were perfectly spread out and there weren't too many or too little. There was definitely a presence of olive oil, which was tasty. They seemed to cook the pizza longer than the calzone which was nice. Still though, the pizza had a uneven quality. Some spots were soggy. The pizza had a weird quality where it was really floppy up front but had this strange Matzo cracker tasting crust. This is strange for a small pizza. Everything was kinda overly greasy, especially for a meatless, sauceless pizza. It was tasty for half the bites, but as I approached the crust...nope. Was just straight matzo cracker. All together, this wasn't worth what I paid for it. I'd only ever order there in a dire last minute situation. I pretty much only ordered because everyone else was closed or not delivering. I would expect the price to be a little lower for the quality that I got. Wasn't the WORST experience I have had, but it's Something I'm not going to try again. Inconsistent. I think it's a big red flag when the Mozzarella sticks were the best part of the order.

I just moved to North Haven Ct in late July 2019 & there's at least 20 different Pizza places within 5 miles of my house. Every Friday night my husband & I do Pizza night & we've tried many of the pizza places & most are very good but we always seem to go back to Primo Pizza. We always go pick up our pizza's & the 2 women that work there are so nice & funny & helpful. These ladies are really amazing. Their names are Christine & Grisel & it's nice because when you go there Christine & Grisel get to know who you are & what you usually order these ww. Also I love their Pizza specials because if you order a Large Pizza (Any kind) you get either a FREE 2 Liter of soda or a free order of Garlic Bites. (I always pick the soda & Christine & Grisel always joke that someday I'll do the Garlic Bites, They're Their pizza is so delicious & we either get 2 X Large Pizza's (If you order 2 Pizza's you get an $8.00 discount) or we get a Party size pizza & a large. If you're looking for excellent quality & excellent service & excellent pizza then you definitely should go to Primo Pizza. If I could give 10 Stars

We love primo pizza not just for my son's favorite cheese pizza, but for the excellent variety of pasta and sandwich options! My favorite sandwich that I basically eat all weekend is the footling Italian sub with added hot peppers and Italian dressing. I've never had a better arranged and layered sub in my life, and I lived in NYC for five years. Their pasta with clam sauce is awesome and their portions are generous. For a small town pizza joint, they really do excel in consistency, good fast and friendly customer service, and prompt delivery that gets you your food in stable order. I'm eating my sub right now and just had to sing their praises! My husband also had their chicken burrito and loved it.

Eh, mediocre tasting pizza. Probably won't eat there again but they were opened late. The ambiance wasn't any better either. We went late one night and the ceiling fan was circulating in front of a fluorescent light and I felt like I was stuck in a bad version of Casablanca. Overall, good in a pinch if you are starving and it is late and every other place is closed.

I hadn't had Primo in a few years because I moved out of town. I'm back living in North Haven and ordered Primo delivery tonight. I had a large pizza with extra cheese and half onions. This place knows extra cheese! I forgot to take a picture before it was devoured. The crust was perfectly thin, and the onions were very fresh. So delicious!! I also ordered fried zucchini sticks. Again, delicious. They offered me a variety of dipping sauces. I chose Ranch. The woman who took my order was very nice and made sure to read back my order. And gentleman who delivered the food was awesome and so nice!! The food was delivered on time and the food was still hot. I will definitely be ordering from Primo again

I ordered delivery of a large thin crust pizza. It wasn't very good. It Was extremely greasy. So greasy it was practically falling apart. The flavor was nothing special. And the driver refused to use the call box so I could let him. I had to walk all the way to the gate to get my order which was ice cold. He didn't have the box in any type of pizza bag. Not good.
