“My friend suggested we go to Double Play Café last night after a concert at the Oakdale Theatre. There was a large crowd for a late on a Saturday night, and we sat at a high top table. We were cold from standing outside for a while at the concert and decided to have some hot drinks. I had a coffee. It was delicious. We then ordered some food. I had the avocado, mozzarella, caprice he salad. I enjoyed it very much. It was fresh and had a very nice balsamic glaze on top. I will definitely go back and try some other items on the menu.“
“I had dinner here last week, this was my first time after hearing about it from others.The menu had items I didn't normally see on a pub or sports bar menu. All good choices. Those wraps and french fries deserve a shout out. Even a few offerings of some Ceasars salad with perfectly grilled chicken. Yes, the menu and the food is great.The great choices from the bar for drinks and beer. The food and the atmosphere was great.A special mention to the servers. GiGi is a fine addition to any bar and Ricky Lanno makes it his mission to ensure customer satisfaction.For a drink, a place for friends to gather, or a place for a bite out. “My wife and I stopped here for lunch after a train ride in from NYC, it was our first time at Reruns but won't be our last. It is a small, but friendly establishment - as the only non-regulars in the place it could have been uncomfortable, but Karen the bartender treated us like old friends. The owner/chef (didn't catch his name) was friendly, and a great guy. They told us (most of) the food is homemade. We had the French onion soup made by the owners wife (incredible), a buffalo chicken wrap with tots (very good sauce), a $19 lobster grilled cheese that tasted better than a $40 one elsewhere, and finally the clams over linguini (a special, I think). All of the food was delicious, they clearly take pride in their work. We had a couple beers (not sure the price) and finished off with an Irish coffee and a spiked hot chocolate - both were perfect. What an unexpected but 5 star experience. Amazing food, friendly staff, and friendly regulars (they had us cracking up the whole time). Don't let the small space, or divey vibes throw you off - Reruns is a gem and we can't wait to go back!“
“We chose Prime16 because we wanted a good burger before going to a game. We had no idea what we were in for! Staff was great. Atmosphere is great. The fried pickles were amazing! My husband had the Belgian borehole burger and ate it all! I had a Gruyère and Brie grilled cheese with homemade blueberry jam, which is not something I’d typically order. Best sandwich of my life!!! We live an hour away and don’t travel that far for food, but we will be back for sure!!!“
“Love the atmosphere and location on the River. 2nd weekend went for brunch. Still no Lobster Benedict, last week got the breakfast pizza, it was outstanding. Got breakfast sliders today, a little disappointing. Karaoke Wednesdays are fun, they tolerated my awful singing.(Maybe that's why the sliders weren't good lol). Going back next Saturday for one more try.“
“Nice little towny bar. Cash only but they do have an ATM in case you find yourself without cash. They have a couple pool tables in a separate room than the bar which is always nice and roomy. Service is perfect. Bartender is very observant and knows exactly when you need another drink. Drinks are made perfectly too“
“My brother wanted to take me to this new spot which used to be the old 50 Fitch in New Haven. They've cleaned up their act and the drinks were good. From what I saw coming from the kitchen the food looked and smelled good.Very small tucked away spot with the main entrance in the back of the building. If you're not familiar with the area, you may have a hard time locating it.“
“We are staying in the hotel here.On our first night staying here on Monday, we just wanted to know we had dinner sorted so we ate here.The food was absolutely delicious.It is a little bit more than we'd normally pay for a meal but well worth it.The quality of the food and the service is second to none.We liked it so much we ate here again tonight.Dietary restrictions: We have our breakfast here every morning whilst we're staying. I need dairy free milk and every morning they get me some. It's no trouble.“
“Place is spacious and does what it's supposed to. Still some things could be improved:•Only field 1 have a small set of bleachers. For a big group and the space available they can put at least another set so people can sit. In the meantime, bring your own chair.•It's dusty everywhere (nets, signage, walls, etc) I understand it's a big, open sports arena but it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages.• Heaters are not turned on even on a very cold February evening.“
