Came here for the first time today and had an amazing meal. They have a wonderful lunch half sandwich half salad/soup special for 10 bucks. The desserts were equally amazing- we tasted the flan and the tres leche cake which were both amazing.

Met friends for drinks and apps, and everything was fantastic. Cocktails were on point, and the appetizers were delicious! The wings were sweet with just the right amount of heat, empanadas and coconut shrimp were Excellent! Plantains were a great desert, too. Great service, nice music. All around a very nice vibe.

We've lived in Hartford for 10+ years nearby at the Linden and have been to 50 Elm on and off since it opened. The food and cocktails have always been pretty good but the service has always been subpar. Tonight took the subpar service to another level. When our group of three arrived, the hostess warned that only appetizers would be available because they were going to close in an ~hour, which we were totally fine with. In fact, rather than turn us away, she made sure we looked at the appetizer menu to be sure we were ok with just appetizers, which I appreciated. What we did not expect when we agreed to sit down, however, is for the server to disappear halfway through our order (literally walked away from our table while I was in mid sentence...), to push us out at 11 even though we had barely finished our drinks despite others still posted up at the bar (likely other people who worked at the restaurant, best we could tell?), and for the margarita flight to have 3 margaritas and 1 water as part of the flight. Who orders a flight and expects to have one of them be water? Unbelievable. We won't be back.

Very nice ambiance with a variety of great freshly made starters like the empanadas and fried yucca were to die for!! The menu carries a mixed of caribean and Latin dishes. The guacamole was the best that I've ever had in a while. They also make a great rum punch. My only suggestion would be to work on the staff as the night we were there, we were about 8 people, and there was just two people to handle the floor and the bar. There were lots of missed orders but the place has a great potential. It is worth a try.

Really nice place for a "chill" night out. Very cozy and comfortable. I had pisco sour and ate a Cuban sandwich which was delicious. Service was excellent. Serves was very attentive to our needs and brought everything on a timely manner. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.
