The restaurant is so well decorated with a fun theme. The seafood was fresh, and we enjoyed all of our meals. The staff were all friendly and attentive.

Anna is great. The lack of fresh oysters at a place named Raw Bar is utterly disappointing. No oysters means no aphrodisiac…I’m disappointed (that’s what she said)

The service is impeccable. Atmosphere is instagram worthy. The food display is wonderful, but they need a bit more seasoning in their food. It was a bit bland. I also ordered a tiramisu cake and it was not at all that. It was cannoli filling, with lady fingers (ehhhh). The lobster mac and cheese was a lovely display, and that's just what it was, a lovely display. I can say the grilled mac and cheese was great. I would rate the overall experience a 3.8 ? , but again the service was very good, they are very very attentive to you here.

Everything we tried to order, they were out of stock. What we did order took forever to get when this place wasn't full. Very Very expensive place to eat. The atmosphere and ambiance were the only things that were cool. First impressions are best impressions, and unfortunately, this place doesn't meet that!!!

The website is awesome! But that’s where the awesomeness ends. This is clearly an establishment that is owned/operated by people with zero knowledge of the hospitality industry. It’s rather obvious that the culture there is bad. The people working there appear to have a chip on their shoulders and it shows when they stop faking it while they struggle to do a fraction of the work they should be expected to do in a vibrant, well managed restaurant. The food is nothing to get excited about. Someone invested a lot of time into the creation of appealing and exciting menu items but failed to do any more than that because they sound way better than they are.All gimmick!Don’t waste your time/money!

Unfortunately a miss. We decided to try raw after enjoying a great lunch at their sister restaurant. We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant on a Monday evening around 6:30. There were about 4 people sitting at the bar and the remainder of the place was empty. The name RAW is more of a theme. The decoration is bright and somewhat explicit. We had a server who was nice but seemed very nervous, he kept apologizing for things and for some reason he couldn't get the order straight. One person ordered a margarita and it came out perfectly, it was in a beautiful glass with garnish along the side of the glass. As for our food, we decided to sample some things family style. Nothing came out wrong but things came out really fast and lukewarm to cold in temperature. Most things if not all came out bland and not at all what I expected based on the menu descriptions. The calamari, lobster ragoon, and bao buns were drenched in some sort of yellow sauce. The wings weren't at all sweet and spicy they instead tasted like cold barbecue sauce. My colleagues shared 4 oysters but said they didn't have any of the garnishing that they usually come with. We also tried the lobster grilled cheese that came with fries. The fries had no flavor or seasoning, instead they were hard and hollow. Overall, I was disappointed in the experience, I had high expectations based on the recommendations. I can't say I would return to restaurant or recommend it to anyone.

Service is great but the food is way overpriced and they serve small portions. Spent $80 on 2 appetizers and a drink. That is crazy. The portions need to match that price honeeeey!

Food of CT

I swear RAW has been the talk of the CT foodie scene since it first opened! I finally made a visit and right away the ambiance struck me as definitely being unique and such a cool addition to downtown Hartford. All of the food was tasty, and I found myself really enjoying the sushi! The seafood tower was just honestly out of this world with the amount of fresh seafood we receive (so this would be something perfect to order with a group)! Really cool cocktails, and the presentation of everything was on point. I mean look at the fish and chips! Cool place with a nice vibe and perfect for pics!
