The food is insanely good. My friend and I dine at Trumbull Kitchen before we attend Hartford Stage, and she was still extolling her dinner on the drive home after the show. She had the marinaded steak. The best thing was the response to her request to replace the fries with veggies. The choices were plentiful, and the side salad that arrived was gorgeous. My dinner was equally delicious, seared tuna with salad. Yummy and beautifully plated. The salad dressing (served on-the-side) was exquisite. We each had reasonably priced glasses of wine.Julian, our waiter was running, as was everyone on staff when it became crazy busy at around six o'clock. The bar was hopping and there was a line waiting to be seated. Yet, he checked on us every 5 to 10 minutes and made sure we were well supplied with the spicy, chip-like crackers that come in the bread basket and are irresistible. If there is one negative, it is the very loud sound system which pumps in thumping music that you might want as background for a weight-lifting class at the gym, rather than for dining. I am sure there is a metric that tells restaurants and bars that people drink more if they can't hear themselves think. Personally, I find it offensive. If I could have done, I'd have changed the selection and turned down the volume.

Service was excellent. Apps, go with the steak... wings were good too but the spice they used wasn't for me. Steak hangover highly recommended. Side salad wasn't great and I'll pick something different time. Baha tacos... gonna skip those next time too. Jsu too much fried.

Everyone on the staff, from the woman who took our reservation to the gentleman who greeted us to our wonderful server, was beyond helpful, friendly, and attentive. It was a busy day there because of a local event, and the staff handled everything expertly. We were a group of five for an 80th birthday celebration and the birthday person received a candle, a song, and a hand-signed card! The TK staff made it a very lovely and special time.Vegetarian options: Good veggie burgerDietary restrictions: Several gluten-free options

I was surprised at how nasty the food is. Been there twice, wasn’t impressed the first time…expected better the second time but no. The atmosphere and branding are all deceiving. The food is chipotle quality at best. The dumplings are so clearly frozen out of a package. Dude the food was just awful it was shocking.

Great place for happy hour however the music sucks!! I don't want to hear regueton every time i come here. The reason i started coming here was because of the music, it was nice louge music. It really set the mood. Please tell the DJ to switch up the music. He's playing for himself and not the patrons.

I wanted to take my girlfriend out for her birthday to a restaurant neither of us had been to before. Some college friends of mine had always recommended Trumbull Kitchen but never got a chance to visit until this past Monday. Despite my friends’ amazing reviews, Trumbull Kitchen still managed to surpass my expectations. We were warmly greeted by the manager, John, who helped us get seated with a smile on his face and friendly conversation. We were then waited on by Jaden who is, without a doubt, the best waitress either of us have had before. She was genuine, kind, and very helpful with explaining multiple menus for food and drink. She made sure to go out of her way to make my girlfriend’s birthday dinner a very special one from start to finish. After a delicious meal including flautas, duck dumplings, and soppressata pizza we were surprised to be given the choice of a free dessert which came with a signed birthday card from the staff. All of the food was plated beautifully and tasted even better than it looked.Needless to say, we were thoroughly impressed and expect to share special meals together at this restaurant for years to come. This is the perfect spot for a date night, birthday, anniversary, celebration, or just a homely meal.

I've only eaten here once for a group event. I can say the food and atmosphere are both top notch. Only reason I gave 4 stars is the wait was a bit much...but that's it other than that it was a great place.
