1st time take out. Always a concern pulling up at 7pm Thursday to empty parking lot and bar/restaurant. Ordered enchiladas Verde. The chicken was ok, green sauce weird gummy texture, no tang like authentic homemade. Side are scant 1/2 cup boxed rice and mealy canned beans. $1.50 for smallest container Pico. Was hopeful for a decent Mexican restaurant on CT shoreline but this is not it

El Compa is the real thing. Fresh ingredients, good preparation and presentation. For diners familiar with the menus of the West Coast and urban Mexico, and in search of authentic cuisine, there is no degree of separation. The menu has most conventional staples and is full. There are some particulars. The rellenos are of the breaded variety, which is a matter of preference. The mole is excellent, but is restricted to a single dish. However, the chef will customize an order if it is absent from the menu. The margaritas are simply excellent.El Compa is family friendly. There is access and convenience for the disabled and small children. Again, there is willingness to customize food orders. For those disappointed in the available Mexican cuisine on the Connecticut shoreline, there is a first rate alternative.

El compa is the best mexican restaurant in town! Wonderful atmosphere and authentic food! Drinks are some of the best I have had!

My food was cold, soggy and flavorless. The proteins were mixed up in my tostada and enchilada. Nothing tasted or looked homemade. I would definitely expect more from how much they are charging. Very disappointed.

Went here this evening and have to say I will not be back. Dirty tables water on the floor, stale chips and water downed Salsa. BIonic burrito was more lettuce than anything.else Basically 20.99 for a lettuce wrap.?. The chicken fajitas were over cooked and dry. Save your money dont go there.

Took my wife and 3 sons to dinner last night and had a very good meal. My 3 children ate “Mario’s fajitas” and loved them- they were especially impressed when Mario himself (owner/chef) came out to say hello- all boys (14,18,20) were stuffed. My wife had chicken fajitas and she said they were delicious. I had a quesadilla and ceviche de camarones- both tasty and filled my bucket.

Had a nice, inexpensive date night at El Compa with my husband. Margaritas were smooth, enchiladas and fish tacos were flavorful, house hot sauce offered varying degrees of heat. We look forward to trying their happy hours during the week!

El Compa is fantastic!!! The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff is awesome! I recommend the fajitas. I couldn't decide if I wanted steak or chicken. They were very accommodating and made a combo of both! Antonio, the great bartender, also brought out a spicy sauce that hit the spot! Deveyn, one of the waitstaff, was so friendly! Between their wonderful demeanors and the fantastic meal, my first time there will most definitely NOT be my last!!! I highly recommend El Compa!!!
