I wanted to love it there. Unfortunately, you can't always get what you want. Our server was very pleasant and did a great job. The atmosphere was nice enough, old tavern feel. To me at least. They only serve beer and wine for adult beverages. Not a bad thing, just something you might want to know. Now for the food. It was really unremarkable. The free bread at the start was great. Warm and aromatic. So tasty smelling that we had to move the basket so it wouldn't be devoured! There were five of us. Two ordered the same dish, so only three different entrees. Hubby and DIL both had steak. They were both cooked as requested, one rare and the other medium rare. Needed salt and pepper. Two had the Sauerbraten. It was tender. Needed salt. I had the Cod Franchisee. Done well. Guess what. Needed salt. I never add salt to my meals. This desperately needed it. So my review would have been at least four stars if the chef had seasoned the dishes. And I'm thinking it's not a rare occurrence since there were two salt and two pepper shakers on our table.

Used to live right up the street, ate there often. Never left disappointed, top notch meals, desserts and drinks. We live in Florida now but stop in whenever we can when we go to CT. A hidden gem!

This place never disappoints. Great selection of breakfast and lunch fare. I've tried a lot of this menu and it's all good. It has an old fashion inn appeal, the staff is always friendly and the homemade case of goodies up front has something for every sweet tooth. It's right next to some great, locally owed small business, come and support them all. Makes for a great destination on a beautiful Sunday.
Tomato bisque soup del. Had the grilled cheese and tomato sandwich.

We happened upon Sadlers on a Sunday drive, and it was the perfect spot for a cozy meal. The women who work there were very friendly and accommodating. The first thing we noticed was the darling decor, which includes antique baskets and other items which creates such a nice atmosphere! Before our meal was brought out,our waitress brought bread (there’s a bakery within the restaurant) which was nice and warm and SO good. We had the chicken liver pate, chicken pot pie (this was a special I believe) and eggplant focaccia sandwich. Prices were fair, food was great, and the experience was flawless. Can’t wait to come back!

Food is always delicious and wait staff is very attentive. Have frequented this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed. During this lunch visit, my Carrot/ginger soup was so flavorful and the bread for my chicken salad sandwich was perfectly baked.
