I’d like to start by saying that the food was good. The hibachi chef was great and made the dinner fun.What was really disappointing was the service on arrival and during the dinner.We had a 6pm reservation. We arrived at 5:55pm and made the team aware of our reservation. They advised that they were just setting things up and would be with us. 15 minutes passed and no further update.Finally, 6:20pm and we were seated. Our drinks order was taken not long after we were seated. This is great! However, the drinks didn’t get to us until 6:40pm.After this, our first part of the dinner was not provided to us until 7:20pm. At this point we were low on our first drinks. We had to find a waiter/waitress to ask for new drinks.After this point, the main part of the dinner was served and the chef did an excellent job.Overall, a good dinner but very disappointing service, especially the wait time at the beginning. Having a reservation should show that you need tables to be ready by 6pm for the guests who booked with you.

I hadn’t been to this restaurant since before Covid and I as very pleasantly surprised. The layout of the place has been updated. After all this time, the manager remembered us. The service was excellent and so was the food.

The people were nice and the food was good. We got hibachi and you get a lot of food. I would have given a higher rating, but we asked not to have any shrimp because of my daughter's and husband's shrimp allergy and I guess the message didn't get passed. They ended up putting shrimp on the grill then tried to wipe it off with a towel when I told them no shrimp. They apologized, but they cooked the steak we ordered on top of where they were cooking the shrimp. When my daughter started eating her food, she had an allergic reaction and we had to leave without finishing our food to rush her out. They also auto charge gratuity on a party of 4. The food was good, but we probably won't be back.

Hibachi was great! They were fast and put on a good show! Food was yummy and not too salty (which is common in most hibachi I've tried on the area). Would absolutely recommend!Dietary restrictions: They were very sensitive to a dairy allergy in our party which was great!

The food was average, the service was in experienced and not very interested in working with us. There were BUGS in our drink. If they aren't following standard health code practices for their cocktail and bar setup, I'm worried about the sushi I ate. House sake also tasted sour and not right.

My daughter was going off to college and wanted hibachi before she left. We called the place we would normally go to in Hamden only to be told they no longer cook at the teppan tables (since the pandemic). So we decided to try Sakimura on the recommendation of friends and it was a great experience! The 3 of us ordered appetizers, which were all very good and all of our hibachi meals were made with high quality ingredients. My filet was tender and the 2 shrimp that come with each entree were good sized. Veggies were very fresh. I liked that they gave you fried rice and noodles. Many places charge extra for the noodles. Ginger dressing on the salad, soup, and dipping sauces that accompanied the entree were all very tasty. I should also mention how nice they were when I called to make the reservation. Sakimura will be our new go-to for hibachi.
