By far the best fish market I’ve ever been in. Everything so fresh, as evidenced by the smell of the sea that greats you when you step in the door. No stinky fish smell here. Great prices too. We love Seawell’s.

I’m sorry to write this review as I’ve shopped seawell seafood for years quite happily. But I’ve had two unpleasant experiences lately. I bought cod from the masons island location yesterday, and it was really nasty, more than a bit off. Could not make the fish terrine that I was meant to serve at a catering event.Last week, I purchased frozen scallops from the stonington docks location. Not good quality, def not the topnotch dry scallops that I’m used to from there. $30 per pound for low quality. It seems like the quality control needs to be ramped up.

Absolutely a fantastic place for fresh, local seafood! I needed 10 to 15 people worth of seafood for a family gathering later on the same day. I called them just after they opened and the girl on the phone walked me through all of the options. It turns out they will steam everything up for you and put it in trays (on ice if needed be) with all the fixings - butter, broth, cocktail sauce, etc. It was all ready for pickup 3 hours later. And the prices are incredible as well. So, coming from a local, there is no better place around. If you want to surprise and impress your friends and family with a seafood extravaganza, call Seawell!!!

Stumbled on this little seafood shack on our way home to Greenwich from Stonington. Got the Day Boat Scallops at $14.99/lb! Grilled them with lemon pepper and citrus sea salt... amazing, best I've had....so fresh! Everything in the market looked great...next time I'll bring a cooler with ice to stock up! Can't beat these little local spots... love it!!
