Very good quality food for a concession stand style burger sandwich shop. Definitely a huge few steps above your average park/beach stand. Has outdoor chairs with umbrellas and a large playground for kids next to it. Ball fields, tennis courts, the manager is kind and professional. Real bathrooms with running water not a beach cafe by any means! They offer kids meals with whole wheat bread, hummus for vegetarians, avocado to add to sandwiches. The fries are good. Ice cream for kids. Nice family friendly place.Kid-friendliness: Anything for kids here! Whole wheat bread options. Great place and playground and fields on site.

We loved this place on our recent trip to Stamford, CT. Dropped the grand daughters off at day camp at the New Canaan nature center, walked around Waveny Park each morning and headed to Mead Park and the Apple Cart Cafe for lunch each day. Food was great! Service wonderful and the prices were so reasonable!

One my favorite places. Lots of choices on the menu too.
Convenient eatery inside the Mead Memorial Park. Friendly cashier. Service was quick. Nice display of menu items. Plenty of round picnic style tables with umbrellas. The kid's cheeseburger is big enough for an adult and looks & tastes 100% better than a fancy spot we recently visited. I was preparing for a large dinner meal so very happy I could order a small appetizer of vegetables with humus dip and bowl of watermelon chunks. A nice variety on their menu. The eating area wasn't very clean on our visit and could be made cuter to match the surrounding.

Apple cart is so good! Each time we're at the park with our kid we always get the hot cocoa and some coffee from there. The staff is super friendly and it's the perfect cute little neighbor spot at the park to chill at. We love it!
