food is good, everyone in our party enjoyed their food, and we selected from Brisket, superb, along with pulled pork and ribs

BEST BAR IN THE WORLD. low-key got proposed by someone I met here. Love the free shout out champagne. 10/10 would host my wedding reception here.

Extremely poor, racist service. The manager was extremely rude, tried to argue with us about taking a beer off the bill that was erroneously charged, slammed things down in the table, and started clearing the table before we had walked away. She also said she was not our waiter but took our tip off the table. My party was composed of mostly people of color and I can’t help but think that such treatment would not have happened if our skin was white. Plus, the food wasn’t even good. Do not go here especially if you’re black.

On nye 2018 I went out to celebrate with a group of friends. We purchased tickets prior to the nye event promising food, bar hopping and more. The food was a joke, it wasn't hot by the time we got there and we got there early enough to expect what the ticket prompted. They put 5 trays of food out and was not planning on bringing more or any way to heat up the food. So we leave because it's boring and no one was in the building until 30 minutes before the ball dropped. The other bars they included in their bar hopping were closed or not aware of their inclusion to this event. The night was a disaster and this is a popular place for underage kids to drink and get wild and it's NOT the scene for me. Thank u, next.

My boyfriend wanted bbq for his bday dinner and chose brother jimmys. Got there around 7:30 and there were plenty of open tables but no host. So we headed for the bar. Again the bar had plenty of open seats. Sat down and waiting about 10 mins...there were two bartenders that clearly looked at us but failed to greet us, hand us menus, ask us what we would like to drink. We both sat there staring hoping they would come help us. Nothing. I decided that if no one noticed us in 2 minutes after waiting 15 we were going to leave. Unfortunately the two bartenders never greeted us. It was so weird because there was no one there. I didn't even notice people eating. It was definitely very slow for a Friday night and they couldn't even asked us what we wanted to drink. Luckily new haven has a lot of better restaurants. If you're in Connecticut and want REAL BBQ, go to Hoodoo brown BBQ in Ridgefield CT. It's amazing.

Way over priced. Brisket was dry, fried chicken wasn't great either. Portions are definitely way too small for what they cost. There's plenty of better BBQ places in New Haven.

Lunch was nice. Great vibe. Great beers. The Ribs were ok- definitely a bit salty for my taste. Cornbread was great

Went in with a co worker. Silence. No smell of food, not even while it was "cooking". The mac and cheese tasted as microwaved. Not ever going back

I was visiting New Haven yesterday evening for the first time, for just a few hours, and decided to grab something to eat. I had been to and enjoyed the NYC Brother Jimmy's location in the past, so I figured this would be a safe bet. Boy, was I wrong. I first sat at a booth in the corner; there were small flies buzzing around, so I got up and relocated. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea to drink, and asked for some sugar packets. The waitress (also doubling as a bartender) brought me Splenda, which was not what I wanted. The tea itself tasted very "off", so I asked for a Diet Coke instead. The carbonator was having problems, so they offered me a can of Coke Zero instead. My food was more or less alright, nothing special. The bun fell apart abnormally quickly. I paid, got up and left. 5-10 minutes later I realized I badly needed to use the restroom (I had taken the train to the city and still had an hour until my event I was in town for--and it was a bit of a walk away), so I walked back to the restaurant to see if I could use theirs. I walked in, made eye contact with my waitress who then turned away and started to take another table's order. I walked up, lightly tapped her on the shoulder and said something like "I just ate here, I was wondering if I could use the restroom?" She let out a little yelp and seemed shocked by me, and then sheepishly said that yes, I could. It was weird. As I walked towards the restroom, I could hear her telling her table "Sorry, that was so strange." ??? I found that to be pretty rude and odd, as I had been nothing but polite towards her during my whole time there. Got to the restroom. The stall did not have any sort of working lock, so the door would not stay closed--kept swinging open. I had to take my backpack and put it outside the stall just to keep the door more-or-less shut. There was no toilet paper in the dispenser, just a roll sitting on the back of the toilet. When I went to wash my hands, the soap dispenser consisted of this big, loose plastic soap container that was currently sitting *in* the sink. The paper towel dispenser was wide open so that if you pulled to get a paper towel, the whole roll would fall out. All-in-all a pretty awful experience for my first time eating in the city. I will definitely avoid in the future.
