A New Haven staple! Great Halal food that is worth a try. There's usually parking available on the street. The food and service is great. The atmosphere is standard for New Haven. Give it a taste!Dietary restrictions: Halal

I had a really great experience in Mamoun's last night. First, the waitress was superb! She recommended some of her favorite dishes. We ordered about 6 different items (including those recommended by the wait staff) and everything was excellent! I was shocked at how inexpensive the entire order was. The atmosphere was cozy. I really wanted to share about something that happened while we were there. A homeless man came in asking people for money. The owner immediately offered to feed him! The owner also made sure that the guests were ok after the interruption. The owner was so compassionate and had a gift at making everyone comfortable. He acted with true humility and it was heart warming to see that in action.

I ordered chicken shawarma plate and falafel sandwich and Turkish tea. The chicken shawarma plate was full of green leafy base and chicken was not Mediterranean spice but covered with Indian spice. The sandwich was just a pita bread stuffed with falafel and greens topped with hummus. Not great taste on both items. I asked for honey and received sugar syrup for Turkish tea. I doubt if the tea is Turkish- it tasted me like regular black tea.

Tasty sandwich but not worth the price. I ordered a chicken shawarma and They put more fresh tomatoes dices and oignons than meat.

Don't waste your time at Mamoun's in New Haven. Food was lousy. Service was poor. And the place was absolutely filthy!

I was in the area from Massachusetts and this place came highly recommended and boy did they not disappoint. Super friendly staff and delicious fresh food. I had the swharma/falafel sandwich and it was amazing! Will definitely be back to try more. And the girl behind the counter was super nice and let me sample their hot tea while I waited for my order and it was delicious as well. Thanks for a great experience, will definitely be back when I'm in the area again. ?

Classic affordable falafel and shawarma sandwiches and platters, open 365 days a year. It's my most frequented spot in all of New Haven. Fast service. I live down the block and have acquired a falafel sandwich ($5.32 including tax) within five minutes. Generous indoor and outdoor seating.

I’ve been here a few times. The food is good but very heavy on the vegetables. I highly recommend their sauces and dips with the sandwich.

I have been coming here since 2008. This place is not the way it used to be.Combination plate with meat had plenty of lettuce.. almost a plate full of it.. some onions and the 2 dips.. you could almost miss the 4 tiny pieces of chicken if you dont look carefully. I was not happy to pay almost 20$ for it.The sandwich is again the same lettuce story.. just add few big pieces of tomatoes to it.They stopped serving water to the guests. You wont get a glass of water even if you asked for it.Overall this place is in a sad state. And it is truly sad to have witnessed this place going down from what it used to be.

I have been eating Mamoun's falafel and hummus sandwiches since high school or 45 years. I always looked forward to eating there and until recently, the food has always been great. Over the past several years, the quality of the food has steadily deteriorated. Today, was the worst. The "hummus" sandwich had virtually no hummus, just a bunch of frozen pieces of lettuce, tomato and onion. The grape leaves were mush or "a soft, wet, pulpy mass." Today was the last time I will eat at Mamoun's. Who is minding the store!! Sorely and sadly disappointed. I hope the owners wake up. Reading other reviews, I can see I'm not the only one.

Mamoun's is a quick, casual Mediterranean spot in New Haven. The place is dimly lit and a little dated but perfect when you're looking for something yummy, fast, and cheap to eat. Whether you take-out or dine in, you'll be satisfied with the meal.

Looking for a quick dinner option and place to use bathroom, and stumbled across this gem. I ordered falafel pita and my partner got chicken pita and it was sooooo good. Tomatoes and raw onions give it refreshing contrast and covered in tzatziki sauce. Asked for hot sauce on the side and it was surprisingly a hot sauce to be taken seriously. Very delicious and elevated the pitas. Last but not least, ordered the mango juice which wasn’t overly sweet and was delicious pairing for my meal. Thank you.

3 falafels in a "platter" for me and a sad falafel pita for my husband. The falafels were stale, the portions small and like slop, and we love Mediterranean food. I suppose they can always blame the fact they don't make their own pitas? Shameful. Never again.
