My boyfriend and I attended the omakase service for his birthday. He loves sushi, so I thought this would be a unique experience for us. From the very first second of being greeted at the front door to sitting down, getting a recommendation for the best sake per preference, and getting to interact with the chefs on each plate we were being served, I think it is safe to say that this was the best culinary experience we have ever had. Ambiance was on point, the sushi was “the best sushi I have ever had” (according to my boyfriend) and it was worth every penny

Friends and I had the omakase and the first question asked was if we had any allergies. I told them I am allergic to salmon. When we got to the salmon course, my friend pointed out that I cannot have it, to which the chef said, "oh I forgot," and made me something else. However, I failed to notice that he did not clean his knives or board when making my replacement. Two hours later, I spent the rest of the evening having a horrible allergic reaction.The food is delicious, but if you have an allergy, do not bother coming. It is pretty wild to be asked about allergies and then have them completely ignored when spending well over $100 per meal.

An absolute gem in the New Haven downtown area. This is one of the best sushi omakases I’ve ever tried in both quality and value. This is even among well-reviewed spots in Japan and NYC.My girlfriend took me here for my birthday dinner, and the whole time I thought it was a $200 pp meal - there were multiple courses with uni (the uni with shiso piece is in my all-time top bites of sushi), caviar, and toro, and each piece of fish was fresh and high quality. I was shocked to see the meal was just over $200 for the two of us, not counting drinks and tip. I will certainly be back.
