They will make you wait 30 minutes for a poorly made and obscenely overpriced smoothie. A tiny bottle of 5 day old juice costs TEN DOLLARS.

Service was excellent, both employees were kind and courteous. The airline smoothie did not impress me: generally unremarkable. For the price that I paid, I expected a much better tasting product. Of course, consider the proximity to Yale’s campus, you are paying for the location.

What a find! I love the smoothies and build your own smoothie bowl. Today I had the acai bowl with strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Delicious & the fruit was tasty . I really enjoy ordering exactly what I want and receiving exactly what I ordered . Staff is friendly & kind!

Even though it’s a bit pricey, PEDALS has wonderful employees who were accommodating, answered questions and made a customized smoothie for me because I cannot have sugar. The service was prompt and my smoothie was delicious! Great experience!

Located on York Street, conveniently across from a back entrance to Sterling Memorial Library, this smoothie shop is one of several in the immediate student-centered business district and is part of a small, locally-based chain called Pedals. Here, you'll find a large menu of made-to-order smoothies, juices, and bowls. At $8.50 for a smoothie and $12 for a bowl, whether acai, coconut banana, strawberry banana, pitaya, or cocoa-coconut banana, prices were reasonable. I opted for an "acai you at the finish line" smoothie which blended acai, mango, banana, and orange juice into a nice, smooth, reasonably thick concoction that was super refreshing amidst a warm early-spring day spent exploring campus. Judging by the steady crowds here, many visitors and students were in the same mood too. The venue is super petite inside, but manages to jam in about 6-8 people at a couple of tables. Given its central campus location, most folks just get their goodies to go. Service is efficient, and explanatory. All in all, a welcome source of refreshment exactly where and when I needed it.

There's an expectation from a juice bar of a certain price that your acai bowl will be topped with fresh -- not canned -- fruit. Pedals fails in this regard. While the workers were friendly, Pedals needs to provide better quality ingredients. A "fresh" acai bowl is quite unappetizing when topped with very obviously canned strawberries and pineapple.
