First got introduced to Halal Guys while on my trip in New York. Food truck. Brilliant. Food - brilliant. Red and white sauces? Truth or dare? And then I heard they have it in Connecticut - instant score. If you love chopped meats with rice and sauces on a platter, you can't go wrong. So filling and so good!

Apparently the store is closed but the halal guys app and website can still take orders!! Me and my wife love their food and drove close to 60 miles (from northern CT) post ordering online (successfully) only to find out the store is closed. @halalguys - if your store is closed, please STOP accepting online orders !!

I come here pretty often, the food is great. Problem is I have rewards points that keep expiring. (I have a lot) this location has closed down all of a sudden and I’ve sent out 3 emails and not one response back to see when they will open back up and or if I can reinstate my rewards since it’s not my fault they randomly closed.Update: they are willing to get my points back and work with me. Thank you guys! See you soon

Food is pretty fresh. Service is pretty fast. Location is excellent - literally across the street from the Green. It's not a fancy place, it's got a pretty casual feel to it. If you're looking for some quick fresh food near the Green, I'd recommend trying this place out. we will definitely be back! thank youu

Fantastic environment and very amiable service. The menu was crisp and delightful. Will surely recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Affordable rates and large portions. Good job.

It's was ok. I wasn't too pleased so I won't be back. It felt more of like a subway than a halal guys would. Halal usually make their food fresh to order but this one gave me food that was sitting in a container. It felt like a subway.

I'm really disappointed in the brusque manner of the phone call I just had. We watched a video of the Halal Guys twice during Covid and thought we'd take the 1 hour drive as an outing. As we approached the exit in New Haven, I called the restaurant. The person on the answering end was rude and didn't annunciate and I'm not sure what she said. I asked to place an order for pick up to which she rudely replied, " You gotta give me a minute." I said ok then I was placed on hold for over 4 minutes at which time I gave up. We called one of the famous and busy Apizza restaurants instead, got polite phone service, ordered our food within 2 minutes max, and are eagerly awaiting our food. Customer service and first impressions matter.

The food was pretty good especially the hot sauce! We got a rice plate and a sandwich and both were pretty good. The amount of food in the rice plate is a lot more than what you get for the sandwich though.*We did experience some drama with an employee having a meltdown and getting the cops called on her but it's safe to presume it was a one off incident.Covid protocols were being followed but the place could be a little cleaner.

If you have been to the original truck in NYC the experience is not the same. The quality and quantity is subpar. New Haven is closer than NYC, that is a major plus. The dazzle the white sauce on the food. No longer give packets out. You have to pay now. They do give packets of hot sauce complimentary. 1 packet goes a long way. The store is quite large. There is a bathroom for customers. Metered parking in the area can be a pain.

I love the food, it’s like a Mediterranean Chipotle. They definitely need more staff though because the line gets overwhelming quickly.

I'll start this off by saying I love Halal Guys food, that's why it sucks to write this. When you look up this specific establishment online it states that they are open until 10pm, even during the pandemic. I arrived at the restaurant at 9:35 to be told that they close at 9:15. This is the second time that the establishment has closed more than 30 minutes earlier than what is posted since the pandemic. It feels as if the staff takes it upon themselves to make their own hours. Sadly disappointed considering I drove from Meriden to come here.
