I’ve never even been here, but I can tell this is a place I would enjoy spending mass quantities of time

Sorry if a naive review but do not go to this bar alone if you are not prepared to have a guard up around folks, as a single woman I felt sexually harassed by some of patrons who appeared to be regulars and the bar staff ignored it as long as the harasser was giving big tips; I was nearly kissed by a drunk guy who pretended to recognize me, another man continued to question me about my dating expectations even though I told him I wasn't into dating at the moment, he also repeatedly kept trying to buy rounds of drinks, essentially for me, to get me more intoxicated , I just wanted to have some good drinks and a calm/chill environment, maybe this just wasn't the place to do that at.

Fun and funky little bar.

This is a treasure. We were in Groton for a few days for work and I had to see this bar in an old Quonset hut. It is nicely renovated with a tiny kitchen at the end of the bar. This reminded me of little bars I used to go to in South Korea so I liked the place immediately. Then a few minutes after we sat down the bartender put upside cups in front of us to indicate we had free drinks when we were ready. Hank had bought a round for the house :-) We couldn't stay for long, but I immediately felt welcome here and will come back as soon as I can!

Was this place known as the Copper Keg back in the 80s????

A friendly place where the locals hang out.

The name is apt - the Half-Keg looks the part, as it is located in a refurbished Quonset hut - and that ambiance recommends it for those seeking a no-frills experience. The food is cheap, and you get what you pay for. Decent beer selection, which is good, since they don't serve hard alcohol.
Cheap food, great quality. Cute little place next to the liquor store, it was nice to come here after work and get to hear other people as lively as I am. Wasn’t a lot of room at the bar but it had some nice tables to seat two on the opposite side. Perfect if you’re trying to hit the krusty krab!
