Best wings in New London County, and that's about all I know about so I'll say Best Wings in the world! Honestly, we love Hot Rod cafe so much and it is a football season staple for us. Really enjoy watching the game in the back room eating some of our favorite wings. Great atmosphere, awesome service, some nice outdoor spaces in the good weather, you have to try this place if you haven't been here yet.Kid-friendliness: Kids are always welcome here, this place is very kid friendly, that being said use your judgment, don't bring the kid on Friday night at 11:00 p.m., it's basically a bar then.

Went to eat after work. Supposed to close at 11pm( that's what it said on their site) but they closed at 9pm. Locked doors and closed kitchen. Please update your site if things have changed plz. It's a good place but I guess it depends on the day. For the price I think things would have been different. We paid almost $200 for three people.

I would recommend Buffalo Wild Wings before going here. I sat down when almost nobody was there and it took 15 minutes to get a drink order. After that, the wings I ordered took another 45 minutes and they were mediocre at best. Spent more than an hour in this restaurant and will never go back again.

friends and i ordered 4 dishes total not sure if they were understaffed or what, but we waited an hour+ for food, got one wrong order (quantity and flavor) and one missing item, but ate anyways because we were starving. the food was good, but not fantastic. I would give it another chance because the ambiance was good and I've heard great things. but how do you mess up bagged oyster crackers??

Facebook advertised 1/2 price wings from 4-6. My wife and I ordered the 25 piece, fried pickles, and a margarita flight. When the check came, the wings were full price. When I asked, I was told that only the 10 piece is 1/2 off… so if we had individually ordered 10 pieces each they would’ve been half off. This is apparently posted within the restaurant (not on the menu nor said by the waiter when ordering) but the FB post only stated 1/2 price wings without any stipulations. I asked the waiter if they could at least take half off on 20 wings and pay full on the additional five; he said he would speak to the manager. I watched him walk straight to the register and charge the full price without ever speaking to the manager and then tell me there was nothing he could do. I ended up paying the full price rather than continue the argument, but I am extremely disappointed. The wings are delicious but this experience was enough to ensure my wife and I will never return.

We used to go there all the time for the steak sandwiches. Now they only have chicken chicken chicken for wraps.

A variety of wing flavors to choose from it was difficult to make a decision. Since it was my first time here, I stuck with the classic - buffalo sauce and hot buffalo, I was able to split my 10 wings 1/2 and 1/2 between two flavors. The food came out quickly and luckily enough it was happy hour when there. Our server was attentive and friendly. The wings were tender yet crispy. My only confusion is why carrots and celery were extra??

Great spot for wings! Large variety of flavors to pick from and the staff is very friendly! The original wings, honey bbq, and old bay rub are delicious ?! Our server, Ryan was consistently stopped by to make sure we had what we needed. Can't wait to come back and try other wing flavors.

Best wings in the state! Multiple beautiful bars with water views. Owner is also an awesome guy and really valuable member of the community.

I was in here recently and always had great service and drinks however this time we were in we were charged 20 dollars for a strawberry margaritas. They up charged us for espolon tequila which was fine. Then they charged us for the margarita mix and the strawberry purée which ended up being a 20 margarita. I don’t even pay that in expensive restaurants. We asked the bartender why it was so expensive and she said it’s because they use organic margarita mix and walked away. I will never go back to hot rods again because I feel like I was taken advantage of just trying to enjoy happy hour wings. Turned out to be a check that I wasn’t expecting at all.

Hot Rods is one of the most popular restaurants in the New London area, and there’s really no question why. They have delicious food, bartenders serving up great drinks, and the owner is so friendly and nice to everyone. I always recommend this place for family gatherings or just a night out with friends! Check it out when you’re in town or make it your regular happy hour spot!

I've been going for over 10 years, and they never cease to amaze me with their delicious selection of wings, sandwiches, appetizers and drinks. One of the best in town and I would highly recommend for dinner out out with family and/or friends.
