Came here with a large party of 12. Server was great, the food was excellent. They have some of the best briskets I've ever had. Delicious and can't wait to come back.

We walked in as a party of 7(4 adults & 3 kids). The manager, a heavy set white guy, originally said they could only seat us if we were done by 4p, it was 2:30p when we arrived. Apparently he needed the table. We picked this restaurant because my wife has celiac disease, & their website said the have GF options. As we are seated we notice the whole upstairs is empty, & the restaurants lower level is only about 50% full. The waiter, young white guy w/ animal skull tattoo on his left forearm. Seemed like he could care-less about my wife's dietary needs, asked if the Cobb salad has gluten-free dressing. He said, "whatever it comes with" ... The only GF menu is apparently online. The laminated menus show no specifics about gluten free options.Over all our party was not impressed. The food quality has gone down. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, it was mostly gristle. Another adult ordered the bbq flatbread, it was soggy, not crisp at all.Our food didn't arrive till 4p, idk who was waiting for the table. There was no large party there other then us.Not happy overall.

A Great family spot. Reliable quality and friendly staff. Good BBQ of all kinds. The brisket and ribs are very good but we did need to cut off a lot of fat, maybe the norm for some. I like the dirty rice and my Cubana sandwich was above average. All of their portions are large so arrive hungry and expect a take home bag. Unfortunately didn't have room for dessert but they looked great. Some family members have had less pleasing experiences in the past based on food outages, so arrive early to be sure you get what you are asking for. We will return.

A variety of bbq options. I had a brisket sandwich and it was delicious. The staff and ambience of the place was excellent. A must visit for bbq.

First time I went, it was very good. Second time, I got chicken and the skin was rubbery instead of crispy. It was not good at all.

The food is really good. Ribs are delicious as well as the wings. Ordered meat pies which were yummy but disappointed that you only get two pies for the price and we had a party of 3..for the price we expected atleast 3 to 4 pies on the plate...Also the happy hour drink specials are only allowed in the "bar area" so when sitting literally 3 feet outside of the bar at a booth during happy hour, ordering a ton of food, You are still charged $8 for a drink that is $5 for people sitting right next to you..which i think is ridiculous, but whatever, I did ask and was refused the happy hour price. It's not about the money, just more the principle. I just don't like sitting at Hightop tables so I'm charged more for the same item because of where I'm sitting..

Have been to the Cookhouse many times... long story short, restaurant looks very very tired, time to refurbish... the restaurant is dirty.... dust on the windowsills, the big black exhaust vent on the wall covered in dust, the women's room stall all scratched and dirty, the white baby changer filthy, food is very good but looks are also everything... time to clean up the restaurant and redecorate...

Heard a lot of good things about the place. Was a little disappointed with the food. Service good and place had great atmosphere. Will try again since rating are high. Won't do ribs again tho.

We have lived in New Milford for years now and Cook house is our favorite place to eat out when we go out. Staff is top notch , drinks and appetizers are always great. Serving sizes and quality are always top shelf. Pleasantly the check is never a surprise and will not break your budget. I highly recommend Cook House it has never been a disappointment to me and my family.

Solid BBQ place with massive portions. I've had the Family Feast three times now and what was intended to serve 4 is more likely 6, in my experience. The brisket is fatty, tender, and rich. The andouille sausage has a nice spice kick and a firm bite. The ribs can be hit-or-miss and will sometimes be succulent, juicy, and fall-off-the-bone, but I've also had it hardened and dry. The pulled pork and chicken are reasonable, but I would recommend the brisket, the andouille sausage, and on The Cookhouse's good days, the ribs. Add copious amounts of their BBQ sauce. The creamed spinach is their best side. I imagine laden with butter, cream, garlic, and varieties of cheese. It's more creamed and less spinach, which I prefer. The jalapeno corn muffins with their signature "heavenly butter" are a soft, crumble, sweet complement to the meal. The buttermilk biscuits are uncomfortably hard and will instantly dry your mouth. Overall, a solid BBQ joint with pockets of very smoky, rich, tender meats with the right sides and a solid price.

The food was ok. Reminded me of Fridays or other chain restaurants, but the service was really good!

Great place. Found it while on my bike looking for a place to get a drink. Lots of room. Tons of easy parking. Nice ambiance. Very friendly staff. Good food. Large selection. Fair prices. Perfect place to take the family or stop on the bike as a pit stop.

Stopped by on a Sunday for lunch with the family, and left with no complaints. It started in the parking lot when we get that distinct whiff of BBQ and our mouths began to water. We have been here before so knew what to expect. Place was roughly 75% full, multiple televisions with the weekend sports being shown. Sat down quickly and was waited on fairly soon thereafter. Ordered the triple play sandwich platter, slider-sized brisket, pulled-pork and pulled chicken, all very good. Great french-fries with a crispy breading on the outside. Small coleslaw was very tasty, not to (wet) or vinegary, but very over-priced (for the size) at $4.00. Beers were priced accordingly, and we left with just what we expected from a good BBQ place.

Arrived at 3:15pm to an empty parking lot.I ordered The Big Kahuna, which is a combination of pulled pork, brisket, sausage, small rack of ribs, and roasted chicken.2 sides: seasonal greens& baked beans. My order came out semi cold, needed to send back, the meats were without that nice smoke flavor I remembered from past visits. The seasonal greens were a bit under cooked. All and all I was disappointed because I had chosen The Cookhouse that I remembered from years gone by.I understand that it was 3:15 in the afternoon and I was the only customer there, but whether it is 9:00am when they open or after 3 in the afternoon it doesn't change the price $40.79 so it shouldn't change the quality of the food being served.
