This place was once the proudful amazing place.... Sadly, it has taken for the farthest worse you can possibly get.The place is absolutely filthy.The service is extremely slow, mind you, when the place is empty and there are no customers in line, nor any take outs being placed.There are times i have seen them prepare my food on the counter without a paper under it. Mind you, it was just used to make a meat sandwitch then they decided to put my bagel on it after wards.They have poor hygiene behind the counter. Not always wear gloves, or if they are wearing them, they touch draws, microwave , etc, as using the same gloves to make your food.They no longer serve your coffee in a dignified coffee mug as it once did.The cashiers are nasty. They make no eye contact. You really feel like you are the one who has to make them smile beca8se your not sure the kind of care you will get from their service. They are disrespectful. Act as if they are entitled to treat you the way they want..The dining tables are always filthy. I have officially gone prepared with disinfectant wipes, knowing I will get a filthy table. They sweep the floors right under your feet.. disgusting ! The bathrooms are gross.Employers just hold their random, dilly dally, conversations with eachother rather than focus on the customers.Always hearing them bickering at eachother and then come to the cashier with that same disposition !I'm going there this week only to visit one of the employers, but I have given up with this place... I have been going here for years. Then I decided to stick it out, in hope perhaps a new manager will take over and etc. Because I really did love this place ... but sadly, it has only got worse. And it continues to get worse.The place is now pretty much empty even at lunch time, as opposed to it once being so full that it was hard to find a table to eat at.And mind you ... this is NOT just me complaining about this place as to where it is now in life.

I ordered some soup to be delivered. It was received on time. When I opened the container, the soup appeared to be the bottom of the supply. It barely had any chicken or rice in it. As I scooped it, I pulled out a big piece of plastic. Choking hazard in the container. I will never order from here again.!!

I was ordering my food and I over heard the way the manger Julia was speaking to her associates. She was being rude, and unpleasant. I use to work at Panera bread & my managers at my store never treated their associates that way. The way she treated everyone made me not want to order food and leave.
This is the first time that I have visit Panera in Newington Connecticut. I don't normally go to panera's but I had a craving for one of their sandwiches. Specifically their steak and cheese. I ordered a whole sub for my wife and I received a half with a side order of tomato soup It was going to be a takeout order. When I got home I couldn't believe the portion size of both sandwiches. The whole grinder look like it was too small to be a whole sub and a half was also smaller than I expected. On further investigation of opening the grinders the portion was extremely disappointing and skimpy. I was lucky that I had cold cuts in my refrigerator and I had to make an additional sandwich just to make up the difference. I can say that tomato soup was delicious. For the price that I paid for the entire meal I should have received a little bit more than was given to me. Visiting my local restaurants that serve these types of subs, Panera can't hold a candle to them. I just recently moved into the Berlin area and I refuse to go back to the newington store ever again. Also reading other social media it seems that Panera has cut back on the amount of ingredients that they were giving out in the past and the prices went up and they're not worth what you get for that price.

I ordered 5 sausage and cheese sandwiches. The sandwiches were under cooked and the bread was so hard. All 5 of the sandwiches were not editable. I called to complain immediately. I spoke with the manager who was unable to assist me with a refund. Very disappointing!
Awful service. Went to the drive through yesterday. I tried to order a warm bowl and was told they couldn't fill my order in drive through but I could come in and order it to go. How does that make any sense? I ordered the same thing two days prior.The last time I went inside the tables were dirty, garbage was spilling over the trash receptacle. I waited 5 minutes before someone took my order. I'm done. Terrible.

My daughter and I had our fav warm bowls. Staff was attentive and nice, but they did mess up our order a bit and forgot three main ingredients. They were very nice about remedying what they could the day e was out of stock, something I find happens very often with this particular bowl! So, because of not ordering enough of this sauce and having some in standby in stock. There are many times my daughter's and I are forced to go somewhere else for food. ) :The warm salad we all enjoy is the Baha bowl. It is missing ingredients a lot at all Panera's sadly'which I find strange this is allowed to happen and have chalked it up to poor management at my restaurant in Newington. ) :Dietary restrictions: I have celiacs, so I can only have the green goddess salad and I have only also had the Baha warm bowl, with no sickness problems, so far. I liked a few other choices above according to what my daughters have enjoyed at Panera in the past! ( :I was very surprised there were any choices for a person like me with Celiacs, actually. So I was very happy with my assistance from a few staff and my extensive research and asking for glove changes before making my food, I have been able to eat there quite a few times! ( :

Spent $29.00 on a bowl of soup, a whole grilled cheese & a small mac & cheese. Waited 10 minutes at the drive through window only to be told they don’t make substitutions for white sliced bread versus a baguette & then to receive no baguette at all & half of a sandwich rather than a whole. Also, asked for chipotle chicken for the sandwich & received barbecue. The order was not that complicated.
