I got the chocolate lovers waffle and it was yummy. My son got the sloppy waffle and there was so much food. Only thing that he said was that the bigger pieces of home fries were a little hard, otherwise it was delicious.

Going to the sloppy waffle is always a blast. They have a great selection for brunch items. Getting into the restaurant can be a bit confusing, with waiting for tables and ordering being separate, but the staff are kind and want to help you figure it out. We got a the blueberry blast waffle and the very berry crepe. The waffle was incredible. I will definitely be ordering one again. The crepe was not great. It was crispy! But the fillings were delicious. Highly recommend for a great breakfast.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options

Always clean and friendly. This is my to-go spot. 4% extra charge if you use card which they tell you about when paying. You really get that small family owned vibe. And the food is amazing.Parking: They have a parking area suitable for their size. It can get packed but always feels like there is just one more spot to fit in.

The best waffles in CT. Chicken and waffles are to die for. It's one of those places that's strict about how you order your food, which I understand can be frustrating for a certain kind of patron but if you come from the perspective of food as an art, or food as an experience, you are meant to enjoy it as the artist has carefully curated it for you and deviating from that will not guarantee your food is enjoyed to its full potential. Even as a picky eater, I have to validate that perspective. I'm sure there's wiggle room on some dishes but don't try it with the sloppy waffle! It's a small business so what they lack in service, they make up for in their diligent hard work and delicious food. The fun and quirky signs with sayings on the wall add an element of familiarity and warmth to the atmosphere.Expecting the same type of atmosphere and service as an IHOP from The Sloppy Waffle is the mistake a lot of previous reviewers have made. The staff isn't necessarily going to be as large or as quick, and maybe that's not a bad thing. Relax. Slow down, enjoy a waffle and a cup of coffee.I will say I'm not a fan of eating off of disposable plates. I'm sure it works well for the food truck and takeout, but for dining in, I want to eat off ceramic and I know I'm not the only one.

A Cozy Spot with Unique FlavorsThe Sloppy Waffle in Newington is always a delightful experience. The menu is quite diverse, offering something for everyone – from sweet to savory. The chicken for the chicken and waffles was perfectly cooked, and the blueberry blast waffle has a burst of flavor that’s personally my favorite!!The service is incredibly friendly and efficient, The self-serve coffee station is a nice touch, ensuring that your cup is as fresh as can be.Overall, The Sloppy Waffle is a charming place that’s worth a visit, whether you’re a local or just passing through. With its unique menu and homey vibe, it’s a spot that stands out in Newington.

This place has GREAT food. We had the chicken and waffles, with house made potato chips, the Louie special, home fries are SO good!! Also the apple cobbler waffle, and a GIANT chocolate chip pancakes drizzled with Nutella. All of it was delicious. The only reason I take off one star is because of atmosphere. It was very homey, and old-school.

Don’t recommend….this was my first time trying this place and I can say I’ll never go back. You walk in (around the side of the building) and you’re greeted with a long line of people waiting to place their order at a take out counter. I thought when the girl brought us to our seats, she would take our order but no. She sent us back to that line to wait for 20 minutes to place our food order. We got Chicken and Waffles, Strawberries and Cream Waffles, home fries, OJ and apple juice. We paid cash so we got a discount but if you use card you are charged more. It was $37 total - very expensive for breakfast. Then we went back to our seat, a different waiter brought us our food. It was served in paper plates (which surprised me as all the Google photos from the restaurant show actual plates). The waffles were not good - edible but not good at all. The were soggy and dense. The home fries were not crispy at all. No free refills on the drinks and they were almost $4 a piece. No one ever returned to ask how the food was and see if we needed anything else. The place was run down, very dirty in some spots. There were big biographies of the owner on the wall by the takeout counter….I hope she can see this review and make some positive changes. This place needs to go in Kitchen Nightmares.

We wanted to try them for a while now. Only regret was we didn’t come here sooner. Warm, friendly greeting from the staff after we told them it’s a first time there, & were helpful in making our selection. Food was valid. We got Spicy Jeff with scrambled egg & lemon pie, both were delicious. We will definitely return & will recommend to friends.
