I just had THE best spinach pie ever! I’m partial to our families homemade banads but I can’t resist trying spinach pies when I see them in bakeries… I’m always disappointed… usually I find them watery, flavorless and the dough soggy. Well all I have to say is Subby you hit a home run! The spinach is seasoned beautifully, the sausage excellent flavor and the bread was just the right thickness. I warmed it up in the oven and almost ate the whole pie…kept going back for more slice. The bakery is quite a distance from us but it’s definitely worth the trip! MZ

Decent baked goods. Rude, clueless staff. A far cry from the store they used to be when they were in the south end of Hartford.

Rare is the day I find a place I both want to keep secret so it doesn't get too busy when I visit and yet shout from the rooftops how amazing it is. I just had hands down the best Ham ans Cheese croissant and Macaroon I have every had. These are my go to safe choice items for a Cafe and they went so far above my expectations I cannot wait to come back and try everything else on their menu. Wonderful staff and cozy locals only feel. Worth the trip. Skip the big box coffee shops and stop here!

Always love coming here. We wanted to get a treat after our lunch and knew I wanted something from South End. Their ricotta filling is the best around, so I got a cannoli and my husband got the giant oreo cream puff. Both were delicious!

Checked out South End Cafe & Pastry Shop for a pick-me-up before shopping on the Berlin Turnpike. It was a small, but busy little shop. People were coming in to pick up grand cookie platters or asking if they had pizza available today. Yes, they had pizza! It was a very thick crust pizza. They had two long cases filled desserts; Italian cookies, freshly piped cannolis, fresh baked cheesecake, cupcakes, and lobster tails just to name a few. They also had breakfast and lunch sandwiches. But we came here for coffee! We got drinks from their seasonal list because we are enjoying all the pumpkin flavors fall has to offer. We got the Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew that was topped with cold foam. I love the name of this next one, Cinderella Latte that was flavored with Pumpkin and White Chocolate. The cold foam was piped on top and super thick. These drinks we delicious. Next time we visit South End Cafe we would love to try their cookies, pastries or pizza.

I cannot evaluate food, service or atmosphere because I could not send a request through their web site. After 10 attempts to prove that I am not a robot, I gave up....

Although this Pastry shop is very aesthetically pleasing to look at I was a bit disappointed. The pastries are very dry and the coffee isnt good. The girl left grounds of the espresso on the bottom and i just took 2 sips and threw the rest out. The lemonades are pure syrup and wayyy too sweet.

The food here is simply good. Not complicated. Good. Mouth-watering good. Feels like family when you visit! Not to be missed: chocolate crossiants, spinach pie, and a double-decker BLT sandwich that can’t be beat!?????

Hands down the best sfogliatella I've had in decades. It hit so hard it made me miss my grandma. The pastry was exactly as it's supposed to be and the filling's flavor and texture was perfect.

This is not a joke! South End Bakery has some of the best pastries, specifically the lobster tails I've ever had! Unlike so many other bakeries, they fill their pastries to order. At times, I eat the lobster tails plain they're so good. They're so flaky and buttery and sprinkled with the powdered sugar, brightens my entire day! I get the original ricotta filling on the side and dip either the lobster tails or cannolis and it brings me to happy tears! The cheesecake and cupcakes are also absolutely amazing! The bakery itself is so cute! It's so cozy and the decor is changed for every season/holiday. The owners and their staff are beyond amazing. Their friendliness keeps me coming back along with so many others. I've been going almost every week for quite some time now and see so many of the same faces. They know my order when I come in and it feels so good to be a regular. I highly recommend South End!
