Outstanding restaurant, great family owned service, and high quality food. We even had Christmas Eve here one year and it was awesome.

Called ahead to order 2 rolls and an order of sashimito go. Told me it was going to be 35 minutes. I am still sitting here 50 minutes later. No longer doing all yoy can eat too so there's literally no point to come here anymore.

Delicious food and great service. Some authentic dishes you don't see on other menus. I had the dry pot which was devine.

A friend recommended this place. There were things that you normally find on a Japanese restaurant menu that wasn't on Formosa menu. I guess it's because this place is Japanese/Chinese. My main dish was not what I expected. The food here in my opinion tastes like your Chinese take out around the corner just more expensive. I ordered cocktails and they were awful. I would never step foot in this place again. I just had different expectations. This is one of those restaurants where depending on your taste, you may love it but I did not like it at all. The only good thing I can say is that the service was good. Other than that, I will never return.

I will definitely be coming back! I ordered some sushi for takeout but didn't time it right, so I ended up eating while driving. It was so good still! Even though I was stressed trying to get back from lunch, I fully enjoyed it! I got the eel and cucumber sushi. I will definitely be back to eat in house and I'm bringing my family with me!

Been driving by this place for years. Always went some where else. Well, today we order from Formosa and we were pleased. Very easy to place a phone order and wait time was reasonable (20 min). Walked in and pleasantly greeted by a nice girl. Food was ready and checkout was quick. The generals shrimp was tasty, Sauce was flavorful and not too spicy and shrimp wasn't over cooked. My only gripe is the shrimp tails left on. The chicken fried rice was also very good, not too salty and chicken was plentiful, would definitely get again. The spicy tuna roll was fresh slightly spicy and Mayo was delish. Rolls were good size and not too big. Lastly, the crab Rangoon. These could use a little more filling they were a little hard (crunchy) some more cream cheese would def help that, not too greasy either. Overall pleasantly surprised and well be back.

I ordered the salmon don. It was supposed to come with rice salmon seaweed salad and pickled vegetables. What I got was rice with too much rice vinager and a few pieces of salmon. My mom got pad Thai which left an awful taste in her mouth. ALSO the place had a lot of customers with like 1 waitress, I felt so bad! The only 2 good things I could say was the waitress was very sweet and the tea was fine.

Absolutely delicious dishes! Formosa beats any Asian venue in Bristol (yes, we drive all the way from Bristol, as the food is so worth the ride!!)

Formosa is the best restaurant in North Haven and the best Asian food within 40 minute mile radius. All of their dishes we tried have been excellent especially the General Tso Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, lo mein, pork fired rice, beef dishes, and sushi. Most importantly they prepare proper fried rice. It has taken a long time to find good fried rice in the New Haven county but here it's fried it has egg and lots of veggies and is perfect it's not the dyed yellow kind that a lot of other restaurants prepare. The vegetables are always very fresh they use wonderful amounts of garlic and fresh ginger. The lunch specials are a fantastic deal when you dine in you will be impressed with the presentation. It may be more expensive than other Chinese restaurants in the area but for us take out is a treat so we don't mind spending the extra money for high quality high quality food.

My husband and I went there to try it out for the first time. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to even order! My husband and I were excited to order, but no one came to take our orders. We were patient and wait nearly 30 minutes with one of the staff member making eye contact with my husband three separate times. Never once did she came check on us, but she did check on the other two tables sitting close by and cleaned two tables, with only three tables being occupied (we were one of the three). Needless to say my husband and I were very disappointed and after 30 minutes of waiting we decided to leave and try our luck at a different restaurant that value our business.

This is my favorite Asian restaurant! The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Service is fast, and they are helpful with questions or requests. I order the dry sautéed crispy beef, and sometimes I ask for it less spicy then normal, and it's never a problem. The dining room is spacious and decorated nicely. There is a large menu featuring sushi, Japanese, and Chinese dishes. Everything I've tasted has been superb! The cocktail menu is great as well. I highly recommend a visit, it's worth driving an hour for this food, believe it.
