Really enjoy the resturant. Food was great. It's confusing the open table menu shows hanger steak but the resturant site does not. I called to be sure. Basically you need to order a double size appetizer. The waitress said it's the most popular so why not make it a menu item like the open table menu. Who would think to ask can I have a doubled appetizer.

I was so disappointed with my experience . We brought in a small cake for our friends birthday that was gluten free not to mention that she is a steady customer. They charged us a $7.00 a person fee for serving the cake. We were unaware of this charge and spoke to the Manager who indicated that was the policy and feel free to serve the cake elsewhere. Never again will our group dine ant Basso again!!

Silence says more than a thousand words. Is this really a restaurant? There are many other options in Westport. This restaurant is truly poorly guided. I am not going to go into details, but it is not to recommend nor to eat here again.
I will never go to Basso again. When in Norwalk we often went and really enjoyed it. This week we went to Westport to celebrate a milestone birthday for a dear friend. She is gluten free so we brought a cake she could eat. The waitress informed us there would be a $7 dollar service fee per person!! My girlfriend went to speak to the manager who was so rude and said we are welcome to go somewhere else and serve it but she had to stick with her policy. Well guess what, your ridiculous policy just lost you 5 loyal patrons!! Food was also average and overpriced. No thanks.

Our waiter Mario was outstanding customer service. Always coming checking on us and making great food suggestions. Very friendly and attentive. Will def go back. And ofcourse the food was delicious!!! Octopus and mussles! A must. And stuffed eggplant!
Food and drinks were good. Staff Eliana was very courteous. We ordered a large variety of items(Octopus, calamari, Halibut, Paella, potato bravas, fries, spinach/chickpeas, volcano brownie, tres leche cake), cocktails and 2 bottles of wine. Everything was served well. Only reason to give 4 stars is the food is very good, but not exceptional. Overall great experience. Calamari was slightly tough.
